I get the talk soft and carry a big stick but our AD was not out there the last three weeks promoting ND the way other ADs were promoting their teams aggressively. Equivocating is terrible persuasion, make points quickly and directly. Quick Ricky Bobby "with all due respect" at the end, not the beginning if you need to be a sissy about it. This is not afternoon tea with your in-laws. Laugh at minus three rushing yards in Bama's final spotlight relative our rookie QB making wrong RPO decisions against one of the best DLs in the country for his first start.

Politics is a contact sport.
That’s because we were in until selection Sunday. What was he supposed to say how dare you have us in the playoff. Hey we are in don’t remove us. There was no reason to campaign. ND was in until the committee, SEC, and the ACC worked to remove ND. This was not Pete’s fault.

FSU and Clemson want out of the ACC...with the private equity Michigan and USC might have problems with the BIG. Maybe start with those 4...halfway to 10 and a 9 game schedule.
Unless USC relocates, it'll be too much travel for them. Or so I've heard.

Bullshit - you lobby until the end. That is an entitled attitude. He supposedly knows all these people so he should know they aren't his friend and the PR campaign never stops at ND b/c there is always an onslaught of negativity pushing the narrative against us or at least away from us.

I can see why ND would want to cut ties with ACC after all the promotion they did for Miami over ND

But a ND Miami annual game would definitely get eye balls especially after the clusterfuck controversy CFP this year and would help both teams get a quality win or quality loss.

The SEC is corrupting CFP and Bama should’ve been out both our teams been in.

You guys got hosed but Miami also deserved to be in

Lobbying against a predetermined outcome is a fool's errand.

Fuck everything related to ESPN. Moving forward Notre Dame should go out of their way to avoid playing teams with ESPN broadcasting deals. Hopefully more big ten games

I get it but at the end of the day, he has to negotiate & share space w/ his AD peers. We all want the mic drop moment but AD’s rarely, if ever; give those. I would keen on watching what actions come out of ND vs what PB said on studio shows. One action I will pay close attention to is how much access he allows to ESPN. Will he accept their invite? Would love it if he declined & stayed silent as to why but I suspect he’ll appear on their network soon w/ an ND-friendly moderator

Politics IS a contact sport but behind closed doors most don’t get as bent out of shape over disagreements the way fans/voters do. A lot of it is theatrics even in today’s hyper-divisive landscape. The 2nd biggest trick the Devil ever played was convincing the masses that there’s a nickel’s worth of difference between Republicans & Democrats. That’s the way I see ADs. They’re still gonna golf together & have drinks & be pals whether you like it or not.

Maybe Pete can convince NBC to pull in Clemson and FSU as partners allowing them to go independent. NBC gets all ND, Clemson, FSU home games. ND, FSU, Clemson get 2 big time matchups every year without the ACC slop. ACC becomes G5.

Football decoupling from other sports is the only way this works. You know these people hate sending women's rugby 3000 miles on a Tuesday b/c TV reach for football drives everything.

The minute you get FSU/Clemson you have your pick of the rest of the ACC, as much as I hate Miami, they are a logical partner and turning into a hot rivalry. An independent alliance of 7-9 teams becomes pretty compelling with 6-8 games set against respectable names.

BYU/USC/Vandy would be my other targets. Maybe Texas sees value controlling their destiny with ample brand to carry

I just think most teams are devoted to half their schedule being garbage to pad stats that they like perception of "toughness" beating up on Arkansas and Purdue that they wouldn't want that many tough games in a season.
