ND could get out of the football deal, there is no grant of rights. There is a grant of rights for the olympic sports, but the buyout isn't near the value as football GORs.

ND would need to have a plan in place with the B10 ideally to take the olympic sports and do a similar football scheduling arrangement.

Why would the B10 agree to that though? Well ND membership is a zero sum game. Any and every conference wants ND because 1. they print money and 2. it keeps ND out of the other conferences.

I don't think this is happening; it's more likely ND will flirt with the B10 while the ACC sits in the cuck chair and hopes ND comes back to them. But it depends on whether the relationship is salvageable. John Brice has been saying this is a cold war situation and ND is on the brink.
I’m sure Notre Dame won’t take my method and burn it all down ( I’m aware that’s not exactly business savvy). But I hope they at least lay the groundwork to exit this pile of excrement conference.

Need to find more Clemson style deals and go full Indy from ACC. I think BYU would choose to go back to independent if they thought they could but even if not they actually seem willing to schedule teams. FSU if smart would sign up for a deal like Clemson. The top of the ACC have terrible sos from ACC and need big games to sell tickets. Manage to keep USC and Stanford and our schedules already better than any ACC team. Look something like:
1. Low level big ten team
2. Mac team
3. SEC team
4. ???
5. Clemson
6. Stanford
7. BYU
8. Navy
9. FSU
10. ???
11. ???
12. USC
Yeah, the problem is that we need some sports affiliation somewhere for all other sports. You could maybe go Big East for them with the other Catholic basketball schools? But you have to do something.

There are really only two moves you could make at this time, and neither are easy because of contracts:
1. Get out of ACC, affiliate somewhere else.
2. Spin up a new playoff with Fox / NBC as partners, get Big 12 / Big Ten buy in. Total moonshot but there is a lot of $$ incentive for Fox and NBC to try to pull something off. Note -- the current "playoff" is fake, it's illegitimate and not a NCAA sanctioned process.

Since the disintegration of the NCAA's authority, college football has been rudderless. ESPN has stepped in to fill the void. And yesterday (along with 2023 FSU screw job) demonstrated that college football is being led by an organization that puts its own self-interest ahead of the game.

College football needs new leadership. It's time for Notre Dame to lead this change. Today is Day 1. This is Pete's moment.

No Cold War, I want the ICBMs launched.
Me too. I think this is actually going to be a galvanizing moment for ND that is going to cause a massive investment in the program.

Then the dream scenario:

1. Pillage the ACC and SEC rosters however Martin and Freeman want,
2. Move olympic sports to the B10. Hockey is already there. Leave the baby back bitch ACC. But do not cancel that Miami game. They need their comeuppance.
3. Tell Gameday and every other shiteating ESPN show/reporter to GTFO of South Bend and don't come back.
4. Beat the everloving shit out of Miami and everyone else next year. Sure put in the backups so the starters don't get hurt. But keep throwing, keep blitzing, keep faking punts, keep calling timeouts. The victory formation has been torn out of the playbook.
5. Bonus dream scenario - give away the 300-500 tickets behind the Miami bench to South Bend locals. For charity.

Edit: Did not see Ozzman's post. Woah. LFG.

Before everyone begins their bed wetting routine based on the words of ND's AD...

Think long and hard about what it is you'd like to hear him say. And then ask yourself if that's realistic.

ND is not going to nuke their ties with the ACC, ESPN, or any other affiliate on a whim.

Pete won't go onto details about the mou but said we're in the playoff if we're top 12 next year.

From Singer:

Pete says that Freeman talked with captains, and captains and key underclassmen said that we're a close-knit team and overcame opening losses and dominated and didn't want to take the field not as that team

If we're all paying attention, he has said the following on his appearances:
1. Fluffed up Miami and BYU
2. Made it abundantly clear that their problem is with the process and ESPN
3. Made it abundantly clear that they are done with their ACC "partnership" just a question of when.
