I am not sure why they have instant replay anymore. They waste time and still don’t make the right call most of the time.

The biggest cheerleading homer mouthpiece there was gets triggered.

I mean, it's bad, and then you have this grip of a human on the broadcast.

Even amidst all the bad calls, I guess there was something good that came out of it after all.

Interesting story and this wasn't done on a whim by any means, but ultimately there are fans who care about records and fans that don't.

I think this is mostly going to screw up pub trivia, Jeopardy and things of the like temporarily until this gets sorted.

I know I’m showing my age, but would love MLB to, just once; have each All-Star team wear throwbacks along w/ black spikes for an ASG instead of those horrible softball uniforms they dress them in every year in hopes of selling more gear on Fanatics.com. Let Nike/UA/adidas/NewBalance/et al come up w/ their own version of a black cleat whether it be w/ a white logo or all blacked out.

Here’s some AL unis from 1971 ASG. Frank Howard was a giant

Yep, when Howard got a hold of one, it was traveling. RIP Thurman.

Judge hit his 25th last night. After a slow start in April, he's been on fire. Good to see the Yankees back on top. Finally got the pitching to support the hitting.

Pirates have a helluva foundation for a pitching staff w/ Skenes, Jared Jones & Mitch Keller. Need to get some bats.
The Pirate appear close to competing to me. It's literally the same situation the Tigers are in. Helluva three man rotation with Skubal, Reese Olson and Jack Flaherty, but the offense is abysmal.

That and the horrible Kenta Maeda signing...dude is a walking/talking L. Can't believe we gave him two years and Flaherty only one.

My Braves have been terrible over the last 4-6 weeks. They are a home run team that can’t hit home runs. I know OPS is the new stat but batting average still matters and when you have 3 regulars above .250 that’s not going to help you be consistent.

The Pirates or Tigers need to trade one of their aces for some firepower. Baltimore would be a great trading partner given what they are doing and who they have in AAA right now. Do any other teams have a stockpile of surplus bats?

They can have the Cubs bats. They are obviously not using them.

They can't trade Skubal, IMO. You don't take the best pitcher in the AL, possibly all of baseball, and trade him for prospects. He should be the centerpiece of their (seemingly endless) rebuild. I don't think you trade a known commodity of his caliber for unknown commodities.

If they feel like Olson, Casey Mize or Jack Flaherty on a one-year rental deal is worth sending off, I could stomach it. But I really hope they give Skubal a long-term contract.

I think the Cards were short-sighted in letting Flaherty & Jordan Hicks leave. Both have live arms & if Hicks can complete the transition to starter, they’d be a powerful 1-2 punch in any rotation. Cards front office has been uncharacteristically bad this past decade

Tigers front office has been pretty abysmal too, but we are only in year two under Scott Harris. He seemed to see something in Flaherty and gave him a chance, and it's definitely paid off.

Unfortunately for us, we gave Maeda two years, and Flaherty only one. Just horrible. I hope they resign him as well, but he's more likely to be trade bait for a contender looking to add a second or third quality starter for a post season run.

I’d like to see the hit rate on the Japanese imports. Of course there’s Ichiro & Ohtani as the outliers but outside of Hideo Nomo & Yu Darvish how many had a long productive career? Again, I’d like to see the data if it exists b/c it may be less about their actual talent & more about how old they are when they arrive in the US. Maeda is 36. He was a 28 yr old rookie. His best years are in the rear view mirror.
