On the home front, if I could just have ten more Ohtani's and eight more Simba's to go with Mike Trout this team would actually be worth something...

Yup. His control is all over the place and he's only got about 2 pitches (from what I'm reading). Looks like he'll be a decent reliever, but that's all I'll expect from him until he can prove otherwise

When you throw the ball at that kind of speed... Man just put it over the plate... anywhere over the plate, and you'll do OK as a reliever.

Kinsler finally starting to wake his butt up,... if Kole can do the same and we make a proper move for a bullpen arm or five... we’d be set

That's Weighted Runs Created Plus. 80 is below average

God must absolutely hate our pitching staff. Ohtani to the DL with a grade 2 UCL... my assumption is he gets Tommy John in a month and is done until 2019.

Just saw, Tommy John surgery confirmed. Really upsetting, even as a rival fan.

Sucks for baseball, he was becoming a great story...

This puts Eppler in a tough spot, he worked hard to rebuild our farm... do you give that up to get Degrom and some relievers? Or do you stay the course, see if you can scrap together a wildcard spot and go big in free agent agency?

Also, I wonder if Ohtani comes back as a hitter much sooner? Interesting to see...

So I'm watching the Angels game on facebook and they state that my Halos are 11th in the American League with runners in scoring position.... what. the. fuck!?! There are actually four other teams WORSE than these dips with runners in scoring position!?! How have people not been fired!?! This team is great with no one on, they drive the ball, they get hits.. all good... put a runner on second and have anyone not named Simmons come up and watch the freakin shit show.

.... and there are four teams WORSE... dude that's really bad baseball.

These Angels may be the worst ‘good team’ I’ve ever seen... don’t get me wrong, it wouldn’t shock me if they make the playoffs (not that I’m expecting it) and they’re are a decent team but they have such massive flaws that rear their ugly heads almost every game it’s hard to believe they’re not in last place sometimes. They can’t hit in the clutch, the pitching is constantly hurt and the back end of the bullpen is the unholy fuckness....

Their biggest flaw is the long ball. Angels P collectively have a top 10 ERA, but give up ALOT of dongs, also top 10.

Its no secret giving up dongs is how you lose close, hard fought games. The AL West is HR happy as whole, also no secret.

All things considered, I think they are the only team not on the East Coast that could take the AL.

They need another starter, at least one more bullpen arm and geez does passing on Moose for Cozart look like crap now....?

If they get a few arms they may be able to go places but they sit 8 games back now after another late game turd... idk

Man was i wrong about the braves. The speed from all the young guys has added a much different element to this team. And the young guys have seemed to bring a much better divorcement to the clubhouse.

Yeah man, it's an exciting year. Can they keep it up all year? I'm still not completely sold but this is definitely a big step forward and the "rebuild" is over or damn near over. I'm glad the organization kept Freeman, that dude is a stud. I remember around 2012 my buddy and I would argue over who the next face of the franchise would be: Heyward or Freeman. I maintained it would be Freeman.

Found this elsewhere but yeah, our bullpen is the unholy ass... I believe we had a multi run lead in every game but one and went 2-6:

Fun Mike Trout Stats:

In the last 8 games, he's hitting .696 with 11 walks, 4 homers, and 9 RBIs.

In that span he's made only 7 outs in 36 plate appearances, while the team went 2-6.

He has a 6.5 WAR through 74 games this year, last year he had a total 6.7 WAR through 114 games

Right now, hes on pace to finish the season with
188 hits
140 walks
92 extra-base hits
50 homers
131 runs
105 RBI
28 steals
14.4 WAR
He has a batting average of .335, an OPS of 1.158

I don't know if that's all fair though... they've been struck by the injury bug pretty hard four plus years running now, it's been sad and ye predictable at this point. This is from their current depth chart just right now:

Unavailable
K. Cowart 10-day DL
Z. Cozart 10-day DL
J. Johnson 10-day DL
J. Marte 10-day DL
S. Ohtani 10-day DL
G. Richards 10-day DL
R. Rivera 10-day DL
N. Tropeano 10-day DL
A. Meyer 60-day DL
K. Middleton 60-day DL
J. Ramirez 60-day DL
M. Shoemaker 60-day DL
J. Ramirez: out for rest of 2018 season (TJ surgery)
A. Meyer: expected to miss all of 2018 (shoulder surgery)

*note Simba, our best player not named Trout, just came off the DL as did Calhoun... it's deflating as fuck.

As a die hard Halo fan, unfortunately this has been par for the course. Even still they just missed the playoffs last year, missed it by one game three years ago and finished with the best record in baseball four years ago before pitching injuries derailed our postseason. 2015 has really been the only season where it's fair to say 'wasted' even then the team was riddled with injuries.

Worst team in MLB?

Why on earth would you watch a Kansas City Royals game this year?

The Kansas City Royals have the worst pitching in the Major Leagues with a 5.36 ERA and given up 408 runs, 719 hits, and an opponents Slugging percentage of .471 - each the worst in baseball. They have the worst farm team in baseball. They have the third worst batting average in all of the Major Leagues. Their run differential is -142, worst in the majors. They are 1-14 over the last 15 games. They just traded their closer, Kelvin Herrera, who has an ERA of 1.01, so their ERA should worsen, especially since they do not have any legitimate closer. Their home record is 10-28. They are on pace to have 52 wins this season. They have lost the last six series against opponents and have won only three series all year. Against the American League's East and West divisions they are a combined 8-32.

Worst team in the MLB playing in the absolute worst division in baseball...perhaps in a while. The writing was on the wall when they started dealing their farm Trading big time prospects like Brandon Finnegan and Sean Manaea for short-term players like Zobrist and Cueto (just to name a couple) helped them win a ring, but really hurt them in the long term. Similar to the Tigers and Mike Illitch trying to buy a ring in 2011. Two of the most depleted farm systems coupled with bad contracts. AL Central will be poor for a long time.

I'm glad the Tigers decided to sell last year and rebuild their farm. They've overachieved this year and it's been a cool story, but I'm not even dipping my toes into the fountain of hope that my Tigers are actually a .500 baseball team. Put them in any other division, they'd be eaten alive.

The Braves continue to lead the NL East and sit just off the pace for the best record in the NL. What makes this season exciting is that the team is young. A lot of young talent with a strong farm system. Even if they fade off as the season wears on this is definitely a positive step forward for the franchise.
