IIRC the initial 'move your star around post' was aimed as Prosise when he wasn't having a good game behind the line. Not Fuller. Also, I'm not sure Fuller is think enough to move around. I just don't think his free could handle it.

If it is just that easy, then don't you think this would happen on just about every play? I mean there is not a single LB in college football that could cover Will Fuller.

Lou had to do it with Rocket. What other receivers was anyone worried about on those teams? Not to mention that Lou only threw the ball about twice a season.

You'd wear him out of you tried that every play and you'd lose your element of surprise. If you did it every play, then I would expect the D to adjust to cover him coming out of the backfield. But to do it two or three times a game, I would expect us to get a mismatch and not a corner.

As far as Rocket, Lou didn't have to do it, he did it to create mismatches whether it was getting him the ball through the air and through the running game, which is the original thought posted by PKT. I think more teams are going to double up on Fuller which will open opportunities for Brown, Hunter, CRob, etc., because we're not a one trick pony.

Also, I don't know about the necessity to move him around. We have other weapons that are doing a nice job of making plays in their respective roles that open up the opportunity for the deep ball to WF.

I pretty much agree, especially with the part I bolded.

First, as an aside almost, if you really watch Will, it isn't that he has unbelievable foot speed. He is truly fast-twitch quick in every dimension. And he has unbelievable vision. He is one of those rare athletes than can see a hit coming, react without giving up the play, and make a last minute adjustment that dissipates most of the force of the impact.

Watch him closely; I have seen him do it time and again, and I swear it is not a 60's flashback, or my PTSD flaring up again!

But onward and upward, to the main point : the phrase I highlighted has been the topic of a good bit of debate. And not only did I want to agree with you, I wanted to bring it front and center.

My observations go like this :

• Brian Kelly has operated one of the most consistent spread attacks in college football, in recent years.
• He has publicly stated that it is important in his philosophy to attack the 'whole' width of the field; therefore, he throws to the wide-out on the wide side of the field regularly, (as opposed to using him as a decoy like many teams.)
• Brian Kelly's offense needs not just a mobile quarterback, but one with a cannon for an arm, for this among other reasons.
• When Kelly didn't have one, (think TR) the offense suffered, though having a game manager made up for much of it.
• When he had a strong armed kid with other glaring weaknesses, and Kelly could control him, (think EG), the offense did well, (when you think of EG's great plays, they weren't just long balls were they? They were long and across the field.)
• Kelly's air offense makes a living off of defenses rolling coverage.
• Kelly's run game has made a living off of Cover 2 zone defensive schemes, (at least until this year when the room got turned upside down and things changed a little.)
• Kelly has the perfect receiver in Will Fuller for that outside position; Will can draw more than his share of the defense outside.

Why would Kelly change this? Why do you think Kelly is having such a hard time putting ESB in with his considerable skills. After all, he will take the position over after Will is gone!

A good direction for the conversation to go with the given that Will just won't get moved is how could the other receivers be tweaked to create the kind of bedlam you are looking to achieve with moving Will in the first place. My vote goes to (in no specific order) the following :

1. Get Jones more involved in the game.
2. More exotic disguises in looks.
3. Getting Tori Hunter Jr., more involved in the game.
4. Using CJ out of the backfield under Will.

Any other suggestions.
