Yep that is simple math in retrospect. They took 25 schollies instead of 26.

I like Crystal Balls as it puts the Analyst out there in the public. A silent commitment paired with a non-descript indication of a Silent Commitment is folly.

Eh. It’s a position group where you rotate probably more than any other on the team, injuries are fairly common and most guys need a couple of years in the weight room before they can really contribute on the field. I’d just see taking that many as good roster management.

Asked them the O/U at 5.5 if the 8 CBs actually signing with ND.
Prister said easily over.
O’Malley said way over.
Sampson said all of them. Said it’s mostly private and in-state schools, so kids ND would get in the past anyways.
The only one they were a little surprised by was Pierce.

I love recruiting over expectations for numbers so maybe that's all this is, planning for in-cycle defections. But, if they do indeed sign 8 DL in this class, that seems excessive.

They've signed 4 in each of the last 2 cycles. They've also added quality prospects. In which case you should feel good about those guys developing. Therefore, adding 8 gives you a full 4 deep of numbers over 3 cycles. And, that doesn't include that they've added 1 via the portal in each of the last two off-seasons.

Edit: Looked at his film. His height checks out and he shows very good leverage and strength. Also showed him playing inside at times. This looks like a really good offer.

Don't think we're out but there's others on the board with ND at the top/in top 2-3 so he doesn't seem particularly likely to end up at ND.

Given how good Mickens has been at spotting talent early, I'd expect Leonard Moore to finish inside the top 200 by end of cycle. I'm terrible at evaluating corners but he looks like an alert football player that makes plays and enjoys being physical at the LOS.
