And as you probably know the conventional wisdom, at least on message boards, is the drop off coincided when they stopped juicing.

Those lines were built, in part, from large doses of 5th year seniors. Stanford seems to have changed policies in a way that prevents the football team from holding onto their 5th years (before the new transfer rules).

seems that its very difficult for their graduated undergrad players to get into postgraduate degrees there to keep playing. (Same as what happens alot @ Harvard and other Ivys) Hence they transfer for their final year of eligibility

Not exactly. Ivy's don't allow 5th year eligibility. They all have to transfre if they want to keep playing.

If we're concerned about stanford then we are very far from where we need to be. If anything them getting a random 5 star should be viewed as somewhat positive if it keeps them away from actual playoff contenders.

For real. He probably wants a good education. Not every 5 star wants all the NIL money and wants to be at a football factory.

The only thing I'm concerned about is that we're not in on a 5-star prospect who seems to value academics.

Rivals ranks Black and Strebig ahead of him, too, FFS.
