Yep. That's the reason why the country's so damn green. Pack a parka. Pack a heavy sweater, or buy one there if the budget allows. I'm sure you'll have an ND cap with you, but you might consider waterproofing it before you go. If it's dry and sunny, enjoy! If not you might be treated to a triple rainbow such as the one I saw there back in late October '89 ... and enjoy!

Well the stadium apparently has all the seating covered. So I'm not worried about getting wet during the game. I actually don't mind rain for the rest of the vacation. It won't bother me.

Ireland is such a beautiful place and the people there are amazing. Would give anything to see the game over there! For those of you that are lucky enough to make the game.., enjoy not only the game itself, but the beautiful countryside and villages as well.

Ireland is great was there two years ago...however there are not many Irish ppl in Dublin...weird.
Can't say I've noticed that
You generally dont see Irish people working in hotels, bars, restaurants, shops etc. as these are lower paid jobs. Most workers in these sectors are from eastern Europe or China. And as these are the people that tourists are most likely to interact with, it can give a false impression. While Dublin is a very multicultural city, the majority of inhabitants are still Irish.

Right now my intentions are to attend this game. I know there was a thread awhile back that talked about this game. But I am interested in hearing more from people who have traveled to Ireland and or will be going to this game. Things like:
Good places to stay in Dublin for value.
Best airline to fly
Any travel groups going(besides the 'ND Elite' alumni that would be staying in castles and paying like $10,000 for the trip)
Any other tips suggestions that would be helpful I would really appreciate.

FYI:
My best friend's family is originally from Northern Ireland. He and his Chinese wife went on vacation there a few months back but didn't go to the north as he was afraid for her. There had been several recent attacks on Orientals in northern Ireland. I'm not sure how accurate that is but he's really travelled the world and hasn't shyed away from going anywhere before.

Aer Lingus out of O'hare is usually the most economical for flights.
Be careful about the location of your hotel. There are a lot of hotels that are a long way outside Dublin - in neighbouring counties - who market themselves as being "near Dublin". The rural transport network is poor, so if you are in one of these, it will be difficult to get to Dublin.
Ideally look for hotels that are "inside the canals" (local expression - city centre is bounded on north and south by canals), or at the very least, in the Dublin City local authority area (as opposed to Fingal, South Dublin or Dun Laoighaire or further afield). The one exception to this is hotels along the DART line (hi-frequency rail service) as it is easy to get to the city centre by DART.
Aer Lingus is cheap, but there are also a couple of airlines doing cheap flights from Newark. If coming from another European country, Ryanair is the cheapest option.

How do people already have tickets for this game? Are they available to everyone yet or only season ticket holders?
Tickets arent available yet - prices havent even been set. There are some travel companies taking provisional bookings. They dont have tickets yet, but are confident of getting them as they already offer official ND travel packages. There will most likely be some preferential ticketing arrangements for people involved in European football - the majority of the crowd for the NFL games in London are people who have played/supported amateur & semi-pro football in Europe. It is expected to be the same for this game.
