Is this what we wanted?

It's probably the best prediction for success along the OL, as Eichenberg was slated as the "LT-in-waiting" the past year and half... it also means Hainsey can stick at RT, where he was pretty good last year, and Kraemer plays inside for sure now, which is probably a better use of his playing style.

To me, yes. This is a positive domino effect.

This allows Hainsey to stay at RT where he's comfortable, rather than move to the other side. It also allows Kraemer to play guard, where many think is his best position, rather than RT where he struggles.

Plus Liam is a bad man, and I'm as excited to see him play as I've ever been for an OL.

Is Avery really, actually, going to lineup as RB?

If so, I've always dreamed of a "two qb" set.

Bring it.

Sorry if this has been asked previously but is this Spring practice period longer than past years? Feels like spring practice has been going on for awhile.

This was mentioned in a Bk press conference and I believe the answer is yes, because they started the week before spring break. So that has extended the overall amount of days they've had "Spring Practice".

Kelly's thought was although the time is the same, they liked the idea of spreading out the amount of days they get with the players.

JGH got reps as the #2 Buck today. BK mentioned that they like his physicality and instincts close to the ball.

Of note, ISD on Power Hour, was fairly complimentary of DJ Morgan with the Buck reps he’s been getting.

Pete Sampson said that Wimbush was so impressive in practice today that it was an outlier, as in “there’s no way you could expect him to be this good in a game.”

Hopefully this means Wimbush got his swagger back.

I sure hope so.

Pretty unanimous from all sites that he was really that good today. Most calling it his best practice they ever seen.

Who's #88 in practice? Dude looks like a player. Guessing either McKinley or Jones.

I don't understand this tweet.

In theory, the defense should be better than last year. And with "impressive qb play", shouldn't he bump the wins up?

I too thought that was an interesting comment. My assumption is 10 wins is the floor, is what he meant. In theory, if Wimbush is that impressive throwing the ball for an entire season, he’s got heisman potential.

Anyone get the feeling that Wimbush is still the guy and it’s not really a QB competition? Cause from reading all of the reports it seems like Wimbush is getting most of the first team reps. This should be a fun offense.

If you want to get Freudian...

During Long's presser Thursday he kept mentioning the offense in terms, such as, "with Brandon, the offense should be..."

"Eichenberg at LT makes the most sense since he has the length to protect Brandon's blind side"

(just two examples, occurred numerous times)

Brandon is starting day one, just a matter of what his leash looks like.

If you went into Spring thinking it was anything but Wimbush's team, you were dreaming.

Well, per reports Book is certainly getting a lot of reps and reps with the 1’s. I’ve seen multiple folks note that in terms of divided reps, Book is getting a lot of work. So while I think Wimbush was always the front runner, they are giving Book a real honest shot.

Again, I think he was the front runner but it’s certainly not that cut and dry. Multiple people have mentioned that this has been the most evenly divided reps, of a QB battle, that they can remember. So if the staff felt the same way as you described it, I don’t think that’d be taking place.

if that was a tackling drill at the beginning - they need more practice.

Anyone who thinks 10 wins is our floor is drinking kool-aid. We lost our defensive coordinator, we lost Josh Adams who was single handedly responsible for probably 50% of our big plays last season.

I have high hopes but my expectations are decidedly mediocre...to preserve my sanity.

Dexter had better ypc.

Oline was responsible for most of that production.

From what I've read, this is not a "rinse and repeat", this apparently is the best they've seen Brandon throw in practice by a pretty significant margin.

Does it mean he's turned the corner? We won't know until September for sure, but it's definitely not nothing. It's a major step in the right direction for sure.

Adams was a stellar back, but as we saw last year, our running game was pretty much just as stellar when he was out. We just continued to churn along most of the season with Williams, Jones, McIntosh or even Holmes behind the line.

I think we're better off this year with Williams and Jones, because I think they have better initial burst than Adams. Having the best line in America helped him significantly, because we saw how he can be negated if he can't get things going out of the backfield. This of course is all provided that Williams and Jones can stay healthy (and Williams improves his pass blocking).

I'm a little concerned about Lea from a playcalling perspective, but he's been around Elko for a while and knows the ropes. As from a coaching and cohesion perspective with the other coaches and players, not in the slightest bit worried and we may have actually upgraded in that aspect from Elko to Lea. No knock on Elko, it's just that Lea has been that impressive in getting his guys to rally around him so far.
