If open for edits, I'd move Cross from SDE to DT as it's the only position he's played. I'd also move Marist as he hasn't practiced at WDE since on campus (Rover or Buck) seem more suitable. Davis is at RB not CB.

As I look through that list, I just don’t see as many guys that it wouldn’t surprise me if they transferred as we do in years past. Obviously PJ has been discussed. Maybe one of the RB’s and one of the WR’s, Kofi Warlow, one of the LB’s??? Should be an interesting spring in terms of how we end up at 85. Hopefully not a painful spring.

Assaf and Grunhard got scholarships so we are at 90 now?

I’d guess that their being awarded is an indicator the staff knows of some pending roster changes that are freeing up some spots, I highly doubt they would do that otherwise, and so their number probably doesn’t match what we think it is.

Story doesn't say if these are for this year, next year ,or both. We've been under 85 since Allen left but I'm not sure if you can give a scholarship retroactively. Assaf is a senior but they don't say if he's getting a fifth year or not.

Kelly said they will be on scholarship for the rest of the academic year in his press conference.

A tweet from alohi's dad I think seems to me hinting that he isn't planning on returning

With Simon and Lamb out for Spring ball (guess I’m unsure about that but seems likely), the battle for Buck will be interesting. Seems like we’re going to be moving someone there. Kiser? Marist? JOK?

Personally I’d love to see Marist get involved in a meaningful way. I think he’s going to be really good. A late cycle steal like JOK.

If JOK is thinking about his NFL future he may be asking for an audition there.

Gilman is gone. Think he would benefit from another year here. He was far from perfect but could lay the wood. Good luck to him. If Farley can get a few years in why can’t he? At least practice squad money isn’t too shabby.

Bothelo, Mills, Alex E, Ramon Henderson, Caleb Offord, Pyne, Watts and Brunelle arrive on campus this weekend! Get after boys! This class can make an impact right away IMO.

Story in today's SBT gave a rundown on each of these guys as well as Pryor and Skowronek. They reported that Brunelle had a separated shoulder six weeks ago without surgery. (hadn't seen that before today)

Usually these high school injuries get worse when they start hitting bigger, faster guys.

Also separated/dislocated shoulders have a way of popping out again. He might be better off having surgery and probably just planning on a redshirt from the start.

Also, in that story, Pryor sounds... confident - "I'm the hardest worker I know." - but also committed. Made it to three games last year? Kyle Hamilton gave him tix to the bowl game.

Yeah, not cracking the lineup in Columbus apparently hasn't impacted Pryor's self esteem one bit.

Driskell thinks McKinley is still questionable to come back, Isaiah Rogertson is as good as gone and he also thinks 2 "linemen" (do not know O or D) could get medical schollies. Did not name names.

II says we have 88 on scholarship this Spring which includes Grunhard and Assaf. Both won’t be on scholarship for the Fall season. They are counting McKinley at that total as he has been seen in winter workouts.

I’ll double post this here because I like the fact he gives some specifics on players. It’s an article from BGI when they interviewed Clark Lea in April.

https://notredame.rivals.com/news/clark-lea-assesses-notre-dame-defensive-personnel-part-ii

He goes into some small specifics about a few guys. In addition to his confidence in the S’s, I noted his comments about Bracy, Rutherford, and Wallace. The Bracy rumblings have been going on since he got on campus. So not surprised. Now it’s just about the consistency of being ‘the guy’. Also, the Rutherford/Wallace combo might have been under appreciated coming in. Hopefully for them it’s all about the 21’ season.

ND's at 88 with the addition of Speights (Agoro and Grunhard I believe are just spring semester schollies). Wonder how they get to 85. OL, DL, RB, and WR have an abundance in numbers so maybe we see attrition from those areas.
