Ergo IE is a hotbeat of anxiety right now.

1. All things Aaron Lynch. Pressure cooker situation if I ever saw one.

2. IShaq. We got him, we lost him, in the lead, for publicity?, enrolled at PSU?, coaching change at PSU the reason he did not announce? All reports any of us could run with and say we "know" what his decision is. Will it come down to Tom Bradley going to Pitt as reported this week?
Report: Pitt hiring Penn State’s Bradley | Philadelphia Inquirer | 01/05/2011

3. Michael Floyd. Will he or wont he? Speculation on NFL evaluation and possible QB situation here next year. Pros and Cons....as he tweeted "decisions, decisions."

4. Brennan Scarlett. Down to Cal, ND, Stanford, USC, and UCLA. No one seems to think we lead, but what about Cal having 4 DL recruits committed already?

5. Stephon Tuitt. Has talked a lot about signing with ND lately. Does that change with the pressure of LSU? What about the Georgia Tech visit next weekend?

6. Coaching situations for rivals and the recruiting implications.
a) Will Stanford stay in house as ESPN suggests Source: Stanford to look at internal candidates to replace Jim Harbaugh - ESPN or lure a hot name such as Chris Peterson to the bay? Does Troy Niklas care?
b) Will Michigan steal Les Miles and cause a domino effect at LSU and further, hire a lower name like Brady Hoke, or a big name like Jon Gruden as Michigan boards and blogs are putting out?
The: Jon Gruden to Michigan?- Part 2; He and Dave Brandon meeting in the desert as we speak?
c) Will Pitt help us with IShaq (stated above)? Would he follow Bradley to Pitt? Does this bring Miami back in the picture?

7. Nick Martin. This front has been quiet for awhile. Kentucky just lost to a coachless team today. That can't hurt right?

8. Amir Carlisle. ISD reports he "won't wait" for the next coach at Stanford. His father and him seem to like ND a lot. There are no "locks" in recruiting, but is this as close as it gets?

Whew...deep breaths.

I am also uncertain about what just made that huge metallic bang in my apartment that I thought I was here by myself in. Kinda creeped out right now.

Not sure why this is a pressure cooker. He is currently an FSU EE.

Again not sure why the stress, this is icing on the cake of a decent recruiting class. And when we are winning a lot next year more studs will come our way.

3. Michael Floyd. Will he or wont he? Speculation on NFL evaluation and possible QB situation here next year. Pros and Cons....as he tweeted "decisions, decisions."

I think its fairly obvious about him staying. Wishing the guys leaving all the best in the BigShow etc etc. I think he is staying. I would even bet your house on it.

4. Brennan Scarlett. Down to Cal, ND, Stanford, USC, and UCLA. No one seems to think we lead, but what about Cal having 4 DL recruits committed already?

Some kids can't count I guess, but maybe he thinks he is good enough to challenge for playtime?

5. Stephon Tuitt. Has talked a lot about signing with ND lately. Does that change with the pressure of LSU? What about the Georgia Tech visit next weekend?

He is Irish.

Peterson says that he doesn't even field calls from job recruiters, so my bet is that he is out. Besides I think I would rather coach UM than Stanford. Les Miles is a bad hire for UM. While he is a "Michigan Man" he is also a throw back to Schembechler. There is a divided house over in AnnArbor, the Schembechlers vs the Carrs. Until that house reunites chaos will reign. Gruden will not coach at a college, his heart is in the NFL.
Ishaq will be Irish if that situation holds true, and it looks like it is.

As for the rest, meh. It feels good to be on the leading edge these days instead of the lagging edge. Feels good to be Irish for the first time in a long time.

Let me help a bit...

1.) He's going to FSU... let's all just move on this time...

2.) Not as clear cut but I am not counting on him playing for ND anymore.

3.) Floyd is coming back... unless he pulls a 180 he's back.

4.) He'll go elsewhere...

5.) Tuitt ain't going anywhere, he's Irish

6.) Honestly don't give two shats about 6

7.) Martin won't be Irish... move on.

8.) Carlisle WILL be Irish... ;)

hope that helps...

:)

I don't see why people say, "Why is ____ going to _____, they already have a lot of DE recruits" when we have 4-5 of our own.

Phork = cool, calm, and collected. I love it. A lesson more of ND nation (and sports fans in general) should emulate. At the end of the day, this is for enjoyment and entertainment right? Instead of the word stress, I will use intrigue.

You have to be intrigued by the Lynch and IShaq situations. I know Lynch is an EE commit to f$u but what if? While IShaq, in my opinion, is more then icing on the cake. We need more speed and numbers on the edge. Kelly stated his dissapointment in the numbers after last years signing day. Councell and Rabasa are both big pick ups, but we need more. Shane Ray was offered last second for a reason.

I wish I had your confidence in Floyd and Tuitt. Anything can happen. Tuitt said he was "95% Irish" and I would agree to that, but Floyd is probably 70/30 stay/go. He definitely has reasons to do either.

The coaching situations are fun to sit back and watch other programs truly "stress" about the actions (or in Michigans case the non-actions) taken in their search for a coach. We are definitly a program on the rise and should enjoy a sort of fat cat attitude for our accomplishments. However, Kelly will be successful and bring the program back because he will not take that approach and will always feel he has something to prove/improve. How much of a shocker would it be to the recruiting nation if we pulled off Lynch, Tuitt, and IShaq?

I am intrigued while anxiously waiting as our staff goes for the jugular.

What a crazy night...hopefully the staff had some success with IShaq too. My uncertain certainty tells me if he would have announced at the AAA, it would have been for PSU. Finish line is ahead, and this week maybe the most important. I look forward to more good news tomorrow.

Stress? This is fun! :banana:Recruiting is quickly becoming one of my favorite parts of football as this is the first year that I've really followed it. Michigan I'm hoping will go through a couple more awful years (so we can take win % back) before they get good again (so we can have a top ten rivalry that makes ND Stadium and the little big house ROCK!). Floyd coming back would be HUGE and so exciting, and it would give me another opportunity to stand behind him in line at Sbarro's and order the same thing as him (cheese pizza... mmmm). Here's to hoping we land all of our recruits (including Floyd)!
