Everyone must be impressed by his coaching performance this weekend..His starting QB suspended for a DUI, having to put a game plan together in less than a week (with 2 QBs that have never taken a snap), verus the #1 defense in NCAA last year, verus a home team that had a unspeakable tragedy, his team played the game of their lives..Glad to see a bloodline of ND football proving his family legacy

Skip is a class act. I know a guy who played for him at UCONN. He had nothing but great things to say about him.

I really thought if Monk and Wadsworth had let Lou coach a few more year, Skip would have replaced his dad. At the time Skip was HC at UConn and had done some good things there. I think his last year was their first in Div I.

Here is some good info on Skip Holtz and is amazing how he turned around that UConn program. I did not know he played at ND. I think Holtz would be a great fit at ND further on down the road.

Yeah I have been a ECU fan since the Gerrard days and was really impressed with what he did last year... didn't think he had the guns to play with VT... great job all around by ECU

Could he be the next coach of ND, in due time of course, he has all the brass to the next one, Head coaching experience, ND Alumnus, groomed to coach from a great mentor, played the game..just a thought

Holtz was not asked to leave...he left because his wife was gravely ill and he was burnt out.

And in no way was Skip ready at that point.

Yeah, if Charlie Weis doesn't get it done this year, let's can him and hire Skip Holtz. After all, it would only be ND's fourth coach in eight years. That's how successful programs are built---by constantly changing coaches.

Heh. Well although I am never once going to advocate firing Weis in under 5 years, NO MATTER WHAT, I will say that it'd be nice to hire Skip to motivate the guys. Hell if he has a fraction of his fathers ability in that department, and no lisp.... he could get hippies to invade Iran.

C'mon, polish. You were doing so well until that crack. At least wait until year 5. Crap, I am really getting sick of everyone trying to bury a guy, when the team stubbs its toe, you see the jackals come out after the body. I will paraphrase my good friend NDinL.A.- you don't go from 3-9 to 11-1 or 10-2. Its a process that is going in the right direction.

Also, as SMC78 says. That is not how you build a program. Stay the course w Charlie. and stop throwing fuel on the smoking embers as others try to start the fire.

Who says Weis has lost this team? I'm so sick of seeing this "sack Charlie" cr@p. This all started last year and hasn't let up since. Charlie's trying to do something that very few coaches have ever done, and that's building a team from the ground up. Yeah we had a lousy season last year, but has anyone realized how much affect that season had on CW? Charlie's getting some damn good recruits to come to ND, and all everyone wants to do is throw him under the bus. I'm living for the day when this team wins a NC under Charlie and all of you naysayers will eat your words.

I never once have said "sack Charlie". I was quoting an aritcle when I wrote this last year. Please get your facts wrong. Please show where I once have said fire CW. Please.
