So Fox News found a black police officer who tows the Republican party line on law enforcement, not impressed.
I have family in the NYPD and I acknowledge that they do a tough job by any reasonable measure, but that they feel threatened by even a minimum standard of legal accountability is wildly unjustified. They should absolutely have the benefit of the doubt but that does not make them above the law. A badge does not give you the right to shoot first and ask questions later.

LOL, He's been elected 4 times as a Democrat for Milwaukee County Sheriff. Wins with 75% of the vote. Considers himself an independent. No nonsense, straight shooter.

Sheriff Clark seems like a great cop, but an even better person. He acknowledges the travesty that is the events in Minnesota, New Orleans, etc., but he is disgusted with the rhetoric of governing leadership that encourages the divide amongst races and the condoning of retalliation, or at the very least the disregard for the backlash occurring in the name of retalliation, to support a political agenda. Digusting hardly scratches the surface to the state of affairs that this country currently resides. There is plenty of blame to go around, but let's just keep pointing the finger back at one another to make ourselves feel better about our personal stance on these issues. There are far too many things wrong with the world to have to start worrying about individuals in society taking matters into their own hands and creating more tragedy, but it is even more tragic when public figures encourage it.
I am sad for the victims, their family members, my family, and society as a whole to the horrible things that this world produces, and I pray for a change towards harmonious living everyday.

Guilty, but the point still stands. Yes there have been some really bad acts of violence against the police lately (the NYPD officer who took the hatchet to the head was a schoolmate of mine) but it's rich to consider a group that hasn't been put under virtually any accountability for violent crimes committed by their own and suggest that it is them under siege.
I expect higher standards by police officers, and until they hold their worst actors responsible for their actions there will continue to be animosity.
