Yep, the OL looks fairly bad now! I'm also surprised that our overall defense isn't a lot better. Giving up combined 60+ pts. thru these 2 games ... yikes!
I missed a lot of the game but didn't the defense only give up one touchdown?
Honestly the defense isn’t a huge issue to me. The scheme is way different on the back end which is not a roster strength so I expected some of this. OK, I expected less than we’ve seen. But I think these issues are fixable.
I’ve disagreed with a lot of the negativity directed at certain coaches but we are kind of at the point where a shakeup of the offensive staff is probably necessary.
Two actually.
They were doing really well actually for the first three quarters, outside of that big play on the first drive.
That 4th quarter however, was a complete disaster from a defensive perspective. And it's the 2nd game in a row that the defense has collapsed in the 4th.
The Shoe was not rocking on Saturday.
Ohio Stadium was more empty than it's been in 50 years on Saturday as Ohio State announced attendance of just 76,540 against Tulsa.
This marks the lowest attendance in Ohio Stadium since Sept. 11, 1971, when the Buckeyes beat Iowa 52–21 in the season opener in front of 75,596 fans.
This obviously excludes the 2020 season, when tickets were not sold to the general public and Ohio State played in a mostly empty stadium.
Ohio State's had struggles filling seats for a number of seasons, but this is the first time those struggles have been so evident in the final announced attendance. Ohio State's official attendance for the home opener against Oregon was 100,482.
