Notre Dame will have full practice today in Ireland recovery mode.

A lot of emotion attached to Purude being an in-state rival.

Kelly notes that Purdue won a bowl game last year. Doesn't mention that it was in Detroit against Western Michigan.....

"we respect Purdue and tey will play great football vs. Notre Dame and the focus is on them..."

Kelly says there are a lot of areas that require a lot of work to get ready for Purdue.

BK - I respect Coach Hope and Purdue but the focus is on our guys and we need to improve

BK - Suspensions are a result of all programs setting high standards for their programs

Kelly on solution for suspensions across CFB: If the NCAA gave us more time with our guys, I don't think i'd be sleeping in their rooms.

One thing the Irish need to improve on first is turning the ball over.

BK - Defense enters a new mode after practicing against the option for three weeks.

Front seven is as good as anyone but it's only been validated for one game.

Golson is a process and will improve week to week. He was very comfortable on the field.

Kellys says Nichols will get some individual work on Tuesday, but is out this week.

Danny Spond should be ready for Michigan St. if all goes according to plan this week.

Safety will be a process for all involved throughout the season. There are a number of talented players at safety.

Tommy Rees and Andrew Hendrix will share reps with second-team offense. More focus on helping Rees shake the rust off........(I don't think it's rust IMO )

Hey bery! Not trying to get off track here but there is a different aura about Kelly this year. It's very business like as usual but with some real determination behind it! He's getting back to what got him to ND and that should translate very well for us. Navy certainly isn't a powerhouse but ther most definetly are no pushover either and they got handled. Each week is going to bring new challenges but I just think Kelly will have the troops ready and I do not expect many let downs this year!

BK - Tommy needs the most work at QB and he needs to be sharp if he gets called upon. Don't know who #2 is right now.

BK - the maturity and leadership helped with the response when Navy scored the first drive of the second half.

Multiple tight ends in the mold of Stanford is something the Irish will continue to do this year.

BK - Kelly says Robert Griffin's Heisman acceptance speech was something he pointed Golson to as an example of what it takes to be a ND QB.

BK told Golson to model Robert Griffin III as he prepares for his role as a starter - but didn't show him his Heisman speech.

on Tuitt: the only word I remember him using was dominate.

on Neal: we'll see him get better and better. It's just a matter of time.

Tuitt wanted to dominate in the classroom and evertying else he did from the summer forward - he's on a mission.

Tuitt ran with the defensive backs over the summer in training runs. Kelly is very high on how driven Tuitt has been.

...Tuitt was very raw but has lit the fire within himself.

Kelly says there was "not much thinking" when it comes to the media schedule this week. Thinks players and coaches already too busy.

...there's not a real reason for less player access to the media - schedule is just really tough for them as it is.

on Ishaq: he is comfortable at ND and now he can really cut it loose on the football field (I noticed he was really amped/excited in moments on and off the field...just saying)

Freshmen are playing more based upon need...

more on McDaniel: says he is banged up but will be healthy for Purdue game. He was what they expected against Navy (those lil sneaky coaches)

Pass rush will be totally different versus the rest of the schedule compared to Navy.

Rees was a great teammate and handled himself well in the wake of his suspensions

BK on what he wants to see as far as culture change at home stadium: "No one over 80 allowed."....j/j "No way. Won't touch that with a 10 foot stick."

Kelly not talking homefield advantage: "I went to the Catholic school with the nuns and the rulers. I'm not getting hit with the rulers."

Kelly says his job is to win games and that will improve the atmosphere.

The OLine is about a group of guys who are strong and play very well together - they are all on the same page. Great coach too.

Theo Riddick ran really hard and physical versus Navy. We have backs that will run downhill.
