In college football today (outside Alabama and their NFL Oline) can a team win without a super mobile QB?

I don't think so.

Oregon, OSU, Stanford, Clemson, S Carolina, AM, Louisville, FSU Michigan, UCLA, Washington, Nebraska, TCU (Boykin), Oklahoma, Miami all have very mobile QB's.

Alabama, Florida?, Wisconsin, Irish, Texas?--don't???

Refs have been pretty decent minus that blown intentional grounding call on their opening drive.

Smith has made quite a few mistakes in containment, but the talent is there!

Now we see how much Manti had an impact on everyone's play last year. There is no leader out there.

Really wish Greg would get a chance to run. Get some fresh legs in there, especially when the man has a chip on his shoulder and it ready to bust loose.

No Jeff Driskel can run. He just can't pass. He's the white Denard Robinson.

You my good sir, have not been watching the game. I agree that Gardner has played better than Rees but our D has stunk.

The D has put great pressure on Gardner on many plays. Unfortunately for ND, he is not a statue back there and can escape the rush and on most plays turn it into a positive play for Michigan.

Saint, so has Shembo-Shumate and a handful of others. It isn't just Jaylon. And he is a freaking Freshman.

Those other guys are all vets (shumate is the least experienced).

We need a lot of adjustments. But, after two weeks scoring points isn't our Forte' at all. Heck, neither is good defense.

Have to shut them down to start the second half. The D needs to wake up.

Icky, good point. Jeff D is mobile.

So, the answer is you can't be a good team without a mobile QB.

And we don't in Tommy.

I dont blame Tommy. GA3 sucked and offense as a whole not great, but that's not the problem the problem is our defense sucks.

Big Lou and Tuitt are non-existent. I hope Diaco has a few tricks left so we can get some stops. We can't allow any points on Michigans opening possesion. If we do, game over.

I still think those first two possessions of ours were a big cause of problems. Obviously the D needs to step up but some kind of drive there would have helped.

You are a ****ing idiot. Texas and Florida both have mobile QB's. S Carolina's QB isn't that mobile. sigh.

Tuitt is half speed at best. Nix looks gassed and has no gap discipline. My concern last year was no emotion and this is the issue...

I tend to disagree about Nix. They have not been able to run up the middle. He isn't a pass rusher at all but he has stopped the run. Tuitt needs to kick it into gear.

I agree it's still too early to be all doom and gloom. However, we have got to come up with some big plays soon or else we can cue up a season's worth of pessimism from fair weather fans.
