I really don't understand what you're suppose to do if you're a defensive player. Helmet pops off you basically have to lay in the fetal position or run away some one is running at you with the ball you can't defend yourself or try and make a play

Really? Try stopping your momentum there while your job as a defensive player is to force an incompletion. Should he hit the helmet? No, but the offensive player in a lot of these situations are just as much at fault when they lower their helmet. The OU receiver lowered his helmet too, but it only goes against the defense. I hate that the rule includes ejections now too.
