Their defense made the plays our couldn't.
Three picks.
We had our hands on two or three, but dropped them and the fumble we couldn't recover.... that's the game.

Wish we took the three before the half.

If Crist was healthy the whole game, we probably would've won easily. If we actually scored on the great oppurtunites we had, we would've won.

It really sucks that I have to hear from Michigan fans for another frickin' year.

I'm really proud of this team and the defense though, they fought the whole game. Last year's team would be 0-2, and would've been smashed by Michigan.

GREAT GAME!!!!

I don't give a damn about the W/L of this game.

Our Defense was spectacular period.
No injury to Dayne, No INT from Rees, no TD.

This was a heart breaker that Kelly WILL use as motivation.

I'll gladly accept this loss!
Yeah, so they looked outstanding on that last drive. Oh don't forget about the 400+ yards they gave up to Robinson alone. Spectacular I tell ya, just outstanding. I hope we have more spectacular performances like that out of the defense.

Tough to win a game when the turnovers go 3-0 against you.

Please! It's not they took advatage of it. Two of them were in the first half. Over thrown and under thrown balls with poor execution on top of questionable offensive calling in the 2nd half is what killed the Irish..

It was all Brian Kelly's fault for not putting Dayne Cryst back into the game sooner. How the fuck was he all of a sudden healthy enough to play the second half but not the first half? What a crock of shit as Brian Kelly waited until he was down by 14 and had no choice but it bit him in the ass. He should be fired just for that!

Welcome to IrishEnvy, Lenny. Now sit down and STFU.

"He should be fired.... " :krazy:

ITS OFFICAL....WE HAVE NO BACK UP QB! That's scary! Great game, but dissapointing to say the least. I only hope that BK figures out what to do about the QB situation. Nate's performance was unacceptable!!!

He had to get cleared 1st. Were all frustrated but you don't mess with injuries between the ears. Why mess with a kids future for a football game.

Robinson is so sick. While he definitely won't translate to the pros, he is an outstanding college quarterback. The only thing that is going to stop that kid is having to tote the load that many times every game. He will never make it through the Big Ten schedule having to do this every single game.

They still can't finish.. Please spare me they score to fast, BS. Would of rather them run down clock and never finish off the drive with a TD, leaving them no time to come back.

BKs got to have a plan for backing up Crist. You can't be trying to figure out which guy is your #2 and what system you're going to play with him mid game. That's poor preparation. Especially with a starter coming off knee surgery.

Definitely, Crist being out for essentially the whole first half was a back breaker. The defense did allow Robinson to put up huge stats but not huge points. Any Michigan fan who wants to say that is not a one man team is myopic. Mark my words, the headline is coming: "Michigan's Robinson Out For The Rest Of Season After Thundering Hit". Michigan runs him too much and the guy weighs 175 pounds...he is going to be caught before the season is over.

shafted, it sounds like the announcers wanted to bang Robinson. W/e If dayne was in the whole game we win

How can you not bang Robinson? 500+ yards of total offense? If you told me that would happen before game time I would have said the score was 49-0.

  • Crist... Bro... Got put it where they can catch it man..
  • Defense, gashed hard, bent to the extreme and held in there.
  • With Crist in the whole game, we win, hands down.
  • My prediction for the rest of the year is 11-1. There is no one team on this schedule frightens me, except maybe USC.
  • Theo Riddick... Big question mark imo.
  • I am a little more comfortable with Montana as a back up if Crist goes out.
  • Not sure how you don't play 11 vs 1 on that 1st & Goal at the end. You know that kid.. The one with 500 yards offense? Yah that guy... PSSSST: He is going to run it.
  • Not happy with that loss, I have to sing The Victors at Christmas, again. But things are looking bright.

After saying all that... FUCK.

I keep typing, then erasing. Not sure what to say. Pissed about Crist. Not sure what the deal was there, but still not sold on the injury. Floyd dropping balls. Defense still can't stand up when it counts. Michigan all but tried to give the game to us and we couldn't take it. This team still looks like they are playing not to lose instead of playing to win

You do realize ND's defense held Michigan scoreless on 7 consecutive drives right??

I mean come on, Denard is legit. I don't care about his yards, I only care about points and that was 28. Yards mean nothing.

ND's Defense held Michigan to 3-16 on third downs.
Only 28 points on 533 total yards.
All while having to be on the field for 8 more minutes.
Some of the drives by Montana lasted like only 5 real time minutes.

If you think the defense didn't do speculator, then you have some high standards....

This appears to be ND's best Defense in years... Diacco is working wonders.

Oh like I told my wife he'll probably break his leg next game and be out for the year but he'll have played just long enough to ensure he screwed the Irish.

Will you not fuckin bring crist up. He's waited 3 fuckin years to play. If he couldn't play then he couldn't play.

They are worlds better than last year, last they would have give up 50 points, however after watching them choke away that last drive I refuse to call them "spectacular." Very good, maybe, spectacular, hell no. You want spectacular, don't let Robinson breeze down field to lose the game.

I'm really sweaty and tired after all of this. It was a hell of a game.

Rich Rod has his QB now, he can run his offense. I think Michigan gets 8-9 wins this year.

I think we've formed some enemies in these first two weeks, with Marve and Robinson.

I personally think Michigan and Notre Dame are light years ahead of what they've been previously.
