This is old news. Give Russia everything they want. What a master negotiator lol.

Pretty much. However, having NATO troops in the DMZ prevents further encroachments and conflicts. And while Ukraine won't join NATO, they will at least be in the EU.

Russia wins but they are screwed going forward with their birthrate and sacrificing what will be one million young men by then.

Not sure the UK even has the manpower to support a DMZ that size
I don't think they do.

If you ever want to have your brain scrambled, look up European military sizes.

I think it is best to look at post-cold war European militaries as basically auxiliaries to the US at best, and ceremonial units at worst. I guess it's understandable, they have no real threat of invasion and they have very heavy cradle to grave welfare states....so something has to give.

The University of North Dakota's aviation school fleet is bigger than many European air forces.

Ukraine's demographics are even worse. Everyone who could left. All the men who stayed are dead. It was a poor country to begin with. But it's gonna have (maybe) half the population it had in the 90s.

Once they have peace, the EU is likely to pour in aid and integrate them into the European market. I think a lot of people will come back.

That's what everyone says until it's time to go home.

Would you rather live in Frankfurt or in Kiev?

I dont think Ukranians are dying on the frontlines so Russia can take over their homelands and they can all go live in shitty accommodation centers around Europe. Example here are where some Ukranians are housed in Ireland:

What is "a lot"?

I'd venture to guess basically no one who hasn't went back by now isn't going to. Whether they found a better job, or their family died, or they met a spouse, etc.

Ukrainians are dying because they are being conscripted to do so.

That does not look shitty at all.

Im assuming the assets the Europeans seized from the Russian sovereign wealth fund will be used for rebuilding. Poland/Romania also show what EU integration/private investment get you. They have pretty good potential for high levels of growth.

Obama had one view I'll always stand for. That part of the world is not ours to control.

My mom's tribe hailed from there for generations. It's a place that means nothing to us. We are spending money we don't have on a place that does not matter to us.

I hope Russia wins if only to prove a point. Because our lives won't change.

What a creature

Rumor has it he is a caveman who froze as a boy in Siberia several dozen millenia ago. He survived through some sort of suspended animation. Warming resulting from the Industrial Revolution eventually melted him from the permafrost.

He was discovered about 40 years ago wandering the woods wearing the pelt of a recently slain Siberian Tiger. Soviet officials quietly integrated him into society as a sort of science experiment.

I thought he was that giant from 300. But I guess this is just as plausible.
