Former Kansas senator Bob Dole passed at the age of 98. Lost use of his right arm in WWII. Ran for president unsuccessfully against Bill (it depends on your definition of sex) Clinton. RIP Bob.

Some really touching videos circulating w/ him. The one where he was helped out of his wheelchair to salute Pres HW Bush was really chills inducing. He & Sen Innouye had a special connection from WW2 and carried it through the US Senate. I don’t know if we’ll see guys like this anymore. That truly was the Greatest Generation.

He lived a long life but it was shocking to see how gaunt he had become near the end. You could tell death was setting in.

Yes I'm a long time lurker and have not contributed anything to the football discussions, but I feel there needs to be some clarification. Dawn Wells died almost one year ago on 12/30/20. Check out post #1061 in this thread.

Weird, usually fake celebrity deaths happen while the people are still actually alive, not when they've already been dead.

Yeah... cost me a lot of quarters keeping my name at the top of Duck Hunt in HS. I actually had a home version of the game in grade school that my Dad sold. He was a Mattel, Nintendo distributor. Funny to look back and see which friends of mine got hooked early and still game in their mid-50's... and those of us who went outside and did man stuff.

Well, late 30s, not mid 50s. I'll probably still be gaming in my mid 50s and then some though.

Definitely a 100% complete difference. EVERYTHING changed in those 20 years.

I’m ten years along,………. Not a thing has changed. As a kid I played sports, read books, played video games,… now I watch sports, read books and play video games.

RIP Al. I can still remember the battles he had with his brother Bobby, AJ, Rutherford and Mears.

Legendary race car driver Al Unser Sr. died Thursday at his home in Chama, New Mexico, the president of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) announced.

He was 82 years old and had been battling cancer for the past 17 years, according to the racing league.
Unser won the Indianapolis 500 four times, one of only four racers in history to do so. IMS President J. Douglas Boles said Unser also set a record for the most laps led in the Indy 500.

Demaryius Thomas, who played 10 seasons in the NFL and is considered one of the best wide receivers in Denver Broncos history, was found dead at his home in Roswell, Georgia, according to officials. He was 33 years old.

Based on preliminary information, his death stemmed from a medical issue, Officer Tim Lupo of the Roswell Police Department said in an email to CNN.

RIP Demaryius. Way too young.

Everything changed between '75 & '95 as far usage and importance in society. That was my point.

Racing legend Al Unser passed away this week at the age of 82. Unser was a 4-time winner of the Indy 500 and regarded as one of the greatest race car drivers in US history.

Anne Rice passed away,… I thought The Witching Hour was really good for that genre.

I'm old enough to remember Madden as a coach and commentator. Heck of a character and just a larger-than-life personality.

Would not fly, so his contract stipulated they provide an RV. Hence the Madden Wagon. RIP John.

Won SB as coach.
Raiders all-time winningest coach.
I think he has the best winning percentage of all coaches with at least 100 games.
One of the last AFL guys. Was coaching the Raiders when they merged with the NFL.

I hated Madden as an analyst,… always wanted Summerall with someone else. However I always respected his coaching background and the games,… hard to believe those two are both gone. Voices of my generation growing up…

Heck, I'd forgotten about that. I remember him always talking about the Turducken or the 6-legged turkey every year at Thanksgiving. He was funny and always entertaining.

STFU. Yahoo just posted an article on her and how the world would be celebrating her 100th with her. Talk about a bad jinx.

Great life and seemed to be a joy to be around!

Fuckin' 2021...

I just watched the Proposal with the wife a few weeks ago. It was funny to see just yesterday how Ryan Reynolds and Betty White were still carrying on this joke that he had a thing for her, she was teasing him about it in some interview and he fired back on Twitter in his usual hilarious Reynolds way. Shame she couldn't make it to 100.

One of the only celebrity deaths to genuinely bother me. I really liked Betty and thought she was brilliant and a real treasure. My wife & I had a running joke that the only woman I'd ever cheat on her with was Betty. I really thought she'd make it to her 100th b'day, and it's sad she came up only 18 days short.
