Conservatives are largely driven by their faith. If the Libs can rid the world of religion they rid themselves of conservatism. If you can make religion the villain you villainize conservatives and conservative values.

I don’t think this is true anymore. Part of the shift we have observed. While I do believe the people who don’t believe in anything religious strongly tend to be more liberal, I don’t think the conservatives are floated by it anymore. The difference in the parties gets wider and wider. They’ll be fine.
