1. Carr's ability to throw the ball accurately down the field makes it very difficult for teams to load up against the run as long as you can pass protect. The only drive where ND got stopped was the one where Knapp gave up a strip sack fumble.

2. I have no doubt that if Denbrock was given a couple tune up games we would've seen a lot more points against Miami. It's unfortunate how "blind" we were going into that game.

3. The defense continues to be a trainwreck but played markedly better with Shuler in the second half. 30 points and 380 yards to Purdue -- who pulled their starting QB for the 4th quarter -- is still egregious.

4. The kicking situation is quite worrisome. That dude was barely making extra points.

A much needed win. I did t get to watch most of the first half but the offense is playing good.

JD is a star. If he wasn’t here he would be someone we would be reading about with his stats.

This offense + defense as good as last years = best team in the country.

Understand it was Purdue, but we’ve seen a lot of ND blowout wins and I can’t remember one where we looked as unstoppable and balanced on offense as that performance. Would have scored 70+ if they didn’t take the foot off the gas. USC scored 33 for comparison.

We tightened (again) in the second half, and finally showed a pass rush, but it wasn’t good enough in the first half. DB play was less of a concern today bc we were missing Shuler, Moore, and Devonta, but there’s still guys who look confused and guys just wide open in zone. Browne fwiw outplayed Marcel Reed in my opinion. good player.

This team’s ceiling is still incredibly high bc it’s mostly the same guys on D, it’s up to Ash / MF to get them there. Really all they need to be is average to just be a top 10 team.

+ Marcus was fairly apoplectic at times on the sidelines when we were “defending.” Unless he wants to have an aortic aneurysm, Ash gets canned.

+ I love JD Price. I’ve said for two years he’s the best back on the team.
Pure RB, I agree. Love is still the best offensive weapon on the team, but more of a hybrid player. Get him into space with the ball and get out of the way.

How is it we get top ranked Kickers and they look like they never kicked before coming to ND and the kicker who never kicked while he was at ND is the best kicker in the NFL.

I am also glad that Zackery and Golden got a chance to play in high leverage situations and even if they allowed some plays, it’s going to pay dividends in the near future.
