That player, during the season, said he was moving on. Then he contacted ND first.
That is a lot different than Deon telling kids to contact him & he will let them know if he wants them and then then they go in the portal.
We are all intelligent here. We can see the difference.

Kinda a stretch to act like they are so dissimilar. ND is 100% contacting kids before they enter the portal. Literally everyone is. Deion is doing nothing different than anyone else.

In a court of law, yeah, nobody can prove what Deon is doing is wrong. But we aren’t in a court, we are intelligent people who can figure things out.
I do know how the contact went between ND and a few QBs, you obviously don’t. What went on is very different from what Deon is doing.
I really don’t care what you believe. 99% of people see the difference. You do too, you just want to argue.
Whatever.

It ain’t that serious. You think Deion is tampering. I AGREE. So does everyone. That’s it. If I found issue with every HC tampering right now I’d have a very long list of head coaches and have to change my name to Pat Narduzzi.

If anything I prefer what Deion is doing just saying Colorado needs DTs over contacting guys directly who aren’t in the portal.

It’s all fine and good getting these transfers.

What will be interesting is what happens if Colorado gets boat raced by TCU in the opener or if Deons kid turns out not to be a D1 level QB.

Jackson State had more talent than most the rest of the SWAC, which made winning way easier.

That’s not gonna be the case at Colorado.

Yep. Pulling in a bunch of G5 and FCS transfers is fine and good to re-stock the roster after chasing lots of guys off, but they’ll still be looking up at the stronger Pac-12 teams in terms of both talent and development.
Ultimately Deion is going to need to recruit and develop good high school players. Edwards and this other four-star they landed are a good start. Will be very interested to see what they do in the ‘24 cycle.

They don’t have an easy schedule for the 2023 season.

TCU, Nebraska (under Rhule), ASU (w/Dillingham), Oregon, USC, UCLA. Oregon State won’t be easy either.

They play Utah as well and Washington State, who wasn’t a cream puff this year. They played everyone close.

I bet they get TA Cunningham (2024 #1 DL) then everyone will know they are gonna be a problem in recruiting

A lot of people are forgetting some of the kids following him to CU from Jackson State were never G5 or FCS level to begin with.

4.5 is interesting because if you look at their schedule today, you see 4-5 wins at the most right now. I'm inclined to take the under but I think they could probably beat Nebraska just because.

He had loads of P5 guys at JSU who flocked to him also he landed Travis Hunter so he will do fine at Colorado too

I think the difference is “the portal.”
Deon doesn’t care if you are in the portal or planning on going into the portal.
Evidently he has been letting it be known that even if your aren’t in the portal yet, contact him, & he will tell you to go in the portal & then get you.
That’s why I said “down low tampering.”
Deon did public videos. That isn’t tampering. It’s smart social media use. Imho.

I see them winning 5-6 games. He will get more recruits before the season.

He’s rewriting the book on coaches on social media. Everything he posts enhances his moves on the recruiting trail. He’s winning some players who are simply attracted to his public persona.

Yes people see that he had a few FSU type transfers but he had some “big transfers” that in reality were on the bench at places like Louisiana Monroe. Getting a guy from Louisiana Monroe is a massive steal for Jackson State. But those guys clearly aren’t going back up to now a Colorado level, or shouldn’t be expected to perform at a high level if so.

Colorado's level was 1-11. 10 of their losses were not even close.

He'll learn.

Not sure where he thinks his paycheck is coming from working for a school that can't afford to pay him.... or those he's promising to kids to come there.
Let’s pretend he’s telling the truth?

Something tells me he won't.

I can't imagine Deion Sanders at a school like Auburn. Just an absolutely ridiculous fit in every conceivable way.

his "boosters" at JSU was Barstool/the amazon prime production company right? So hes probably not lying when he said he never met with any traditional booster types
This may very well be groundbreaking for college football that a head coach isn't telling the truth about something.

Big blow to Deion’s likely expectation of how this move would unfold.

Deion has not had the splash expected of so far outside of Travis Hunter and Dylan Edwards - our luck.
