The safety lowered his shoulder and blasted him full speed square in the side/stomach. Turner was basically defenseless. Unless he was wearing rib pads, which WRs usually don't, you could definitely get internal injuries from a hit like that.

Am i the only one who didn't mind that hit? A little late I'll give ya, but if a defense has an opportunity to lay the wood on a star skill player, take it. I didn't see the play up close/slowed down to see whether or not he almost caught it or not, so open to differing opinions.

I don't find it much different from what Georgia did to Harrison jr. in the semis last year.....

It was late, but not overly aggressive or even hard.
He just caught the guy in the perfect/wrong spot.

Oh I think the safety saw a chance to take a hard shot at CU’s best player, so he did. Got there a step late but didn’t let that stop him.

So, yeah, a penalty. But also worth it for CSU. Even if he hadn’t knocked Hunter out of the game, he would’ve sent a message.
