Long listen. In some ways enlightening as it was a cordial debate that was not generally filled with sound bites or "gotchas". I thought Bari Weiss did a good job of guiding the discussion.

It would've been better if Sam Harris's stance was actually in support of many of Kamala's policies. Instead it was more explaining why Trump was a threat.

Anyhow, I came away with a little more insight on each side, but ultimately came away thinking .... America is screwed regardless of who wins.

It's just insane that we are stuck with these two choices.

The Free Press is such an awesome outlet. Weiss and her outlet are seemingly one of only a few left that can objectively criticize and praise each side when they deserve it. TGIF is the highlight read of my week

The "both sides are bad" bit is about as unserious and lowbrow as it gets. Sadly, we have tens of millions of people in this country who are both. These people can't scratch off nuance from a frigging gas station lottery ticket if they had a pocket full of quarters.

However I have voted in the last 28 years, I've never found this statement to be sincere.

Saw that Democrats are suing in Georgia to prevent drop box surveillance on ballot boxes.
Seems rather suspect there's one party that is fighting to prevent voter ID, banning surveillance on ballot boxes, and they don't want non-citizens purged from voter registrations in the weeks leading up to the election. Why would you behave in such a way unless you plan on gaming the system?
Any chance you have a link for this one? I've lost track of the amount of lawsuits in all of these swing states. It's utterly ridiculous.

Are we comparing Rogan to David Duke?

There is nothing wrong with admitting she is who she is. She's an airhead dem who will sign what she's told to sign and will veto what she's told to veto. It would be a continuation of Biden but with a younger darker woman(!!!) signing off on things. Nothing more, nothing less. Many million people are very okay with that, considering Trump Is the alternative.

That said, let's not pretend people are voting for her vision of America. She doesn't have one. They're merely voting against DJT, which is perfectly fine so long as people admit that.
Sort of the same as 2020. 10 years from now maybe the one thing we can thank Trump for is voter turnout.

Right up there with "Socially liberal and fiscally conservative" crowd.

Viewing everything through a binary lense always supports the more extreme of the two options, which is of course the intended result for those people.

The whole point of this forum has become who is less bad. 99% of the shit people argue about on here they probably really don’t even care about. It’s hilarious when people just randomly post about Trump supporter blaming the government for weather, for example.

If America had to choose between a Free Puppy and 10 years stuck on the toilet with explosive ass piss, it would be 50.1 to 49.9 and the tipping point would be white people in Erie County, PA. who thought Joe Paterno got a raw deal because he provided books for the library.

The real problem is that if the Republicans came out in support of the Free Puppy choice, the Dem's would come out in support of explosive ass piss and vice versa. The sheep would simply follow.

Of course they would. Because seeing others get a free puppy is too much to stomach and that the free puppy would cost money. There would be freaks that would say "Man should not lay with animal" so by that measure everyone should have ass piss.

My favorite sheep are the disingenuous ones who say "He tells it like it is" and then follow that with "He doesn't mean what he says" and or "He's only kidding" when some batshit weirdness comes out at a rally or two.

We do live in a world where people still root for the Oakland Athletics and eat black licorice.

Also, To be fair I had fire piss once but she was hot and worth it and I don’t like dogs.

Likely to be an outlier? LOL. No shit.
It's for sure an outlier and there's zero chance Kamala is winning Kansas. It is interesting though that it appears Trumps popularity in deep red states seems to be waning. He won Kansas by 21 points in 2016, 15 in 2020, and now seems to be even closer this election.

How does one become a suspected noncitizen? You're either a citizen or you're not. What constitutes suspecting a citizen of not being one and dumping them off of a voter roll, then?
From the article

In August that required election officials to take more aggressive steps to match residents who self-identified as noncitizens at the Department of Motor Vehicles against voter rolls and to purge those matches.

So they self identified themselves as non citizens. Great.

If any citizens eligible to vote are purged off of the rolls as a result, that's a problem, however. Regardless of what party they're registered with.

They are given an opportunity to "cure" the error. An inconvenience I'm sure, but I bet they never self-identify as a non-citizen again.

Hokeedoke, then.

Some of the headlines are calling them "suspected non citizens." How does one become suspected of something they self identified as to begin with?

Oh, hey, look:

Because they recognize that some of these people may have self identified in error. Thus they are suspected.

They aren't self-identify as a non-citizens. They failed to check a box on a DMV form that says they are citizens. Big difference.
Another Virginia voter, 22-year-old Rina Shaw, who said she was born in the state, had not realized that her voter registration had been canceled until NPR asked her about her registration status and she checked it online.

Shaw, who began voting in 2020, said she recently updated her voter registration at the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles when she was getting her learner's permit and found the form to be "poorly designed."

She likely failed to mark a box that she was a U.S. citizen, because afterwards, she received a letter from her county election office notifying her that information from the DMV indicated that she "may not be a U.S. citizen." The notice asked her to affirm her citizenship, which she did, and then she mailed back the form.
Many of the people kicked off had filled out the forms other times in the past to receive drivers licenses and never had the same issue.

There's a whole shit ton of issues with this and the biggest one isn the timing. There was zero reason for Virginia to start doing this right now. Presidential elections happen every 4 years pretty regularly.

I guess this is what the form looks like. The people that are "suspected" and removed are people who either initialed that they are non-citizens or they left both boxes (Yes and NO) blank, not answering the question at all.

SCOTUS ruled on this pretty quick too. Certainly something to keep in mind with all of the lawsuits already pending and more than are sure to follow in all of these swing states in the weeks ahead.
