Lets get the ball rolling to see what we think. I will start with week 1 vs. Texas A&M. The moment the over/under comes out, I suggest taking the under on this one. We all know how tough ND's defense is supposed to be. Morrison being healthy is crucial. I will be watching to see how ND's LB's hold up because their DL and secondary should be outstanding.

On the other side, Texas A&M could potentially have one of the best D lines that ND has played over the past three years. The ND tackle duo is going to be crucial if the Irish want to put some points on the board. With the crowd noise and the pressure, it will be tough for Denbrock to push the ball down the field like he wants to do. I wonder if the ND interior O will have success. The Aggie DL is more Ferrari than tank this season, so sometimes the best course of action is to run right at speed players. If ND can win the interior matchup, it would be huge, because the matchup on the edges, at this point, seems like a massive Aggie edge.

I think we win. We are just due to win one of those season defining program enhancing games

I really thought this was going to be the away 30-13 win against top-10 Oklahoma in 2012. I mean, it was one of a few wins that defined the season. But it just felt like *more* at the time. Like an “okay, we’re here now - back to winning national championships” moment.

Anyway - hopefully we have it against A&M. I think we either win by a lot or barely lose in a heartbreaker. Vegas basically having this as a pick ‘em worries me.

ND beats A&M but stubs their toe down the line making the FSU game a must win....

I don’t trust Freeman yet to lead a team. Especially over a full season. Hope I’m wrong.

I see two losses reg. season with one being a WTF.

Honestly think this team is too talented and Denbrock or Golden are too talented of coordinators for Freeman to not lead this team well this year. I think he understands his role well as head coach and will effectively delegate to Denbrock or Golden for offense/defense. If oline comes through, this team could have a very special 2024.

This is an upgraded team from last season, we have a better OC, we have a QB that fits the offensive system, and our defense should pick up where it left off. We could see many young guys shine this season.

I think A&M is a MUST win game for Notre Dame and I think they win to start off what has big potential to have a very special 2024 season.

This is going to sound a bit dramatic... but I really won't be satisfied this year unless they make the semifinals or better.

If they go 11-1 or 12-0, they are looking at the 5 or 6 seed most likely. 5 seed means playing the best G5. 6 seed can be a little tricky, but a home game in a snow storm should favor them against whatever team they'd get.

Quarterfinal match up against the Big 12 champion. There's no one in that conference even close to ND from a blue chip ratio perspective (let alone the top 4-5 teams in the BIG or SEC each). Alternative would be quarterfinal against the ACC champion- Clemson? ND is better than right now, result on the field last year be damned. FSU? ND would have beaten them once already. Anyone else? Who cares really.

Take care of business and win the games your supposed to. No '23 Louisvilles, Clemsons, or '22 Marshalls.

The TAM game is a tone setter. A victory down there will instill a lot of confidence in this team going forward. Schedule is favorable this year, but we do not want to start off with a loss. Team will play better going forward this year being 1-0 rather than 0-1. Like our chances in this game.

Well said and I agree. This game is a tone setter and it gives ND an opportunity to show they are playoff team. I like our chances in this game as well and I think we can have a good game on both sides of the ball.

10-2 With losses to TA&M and USC, first and last games of the season. Will be the last team to make the playoffs however.

My big question mark is the QB play. If Riley lives up to the hype, unlike Hartman, 11-1 is a real possibility.

USC probably isn't winning more 7 games without Williams at QB and with that sh&tty defense so i'll be shocked if they beat us

I say 10-2 at worst, 12-0 best. If we lose 2 it's a combination of A&M or FSU and Georgia Tech or USC. Georgia Tech is the potential upset/close game. FSU and DJU also make me a little nervous.

TAMU- Aggie rides crowd early. ND calls timeouts to avoid delay of games, first half pockmarked with false starts. ND finds their footing, but it’s too late.

0-1

NIU- ho hum double digit victory.

1-1

Purdue- halftime score puts board into orbit, ND pours it on in 4th quarter

2-1

Miami OH- blowout

3-1

Louisville- UGLY win

4-1

Stanford- UGLIER win

5-1

Georgia Tech- spitting image of Louisville game last year

5-2

Navy- blowout

6-2

FSU- big win

7-2

Virginia- comfortable win, but not a blowout

8-2

Army- annoying win, but decisive win

9-2

USC- shell shocked loss

9-3

The good news is we will have a very good idea on the caliber of this team right away in Week 1.

Winning that game will create hype the rest of the way, losing an overly dramatic death spiral with 11 games left.

Agree. It’s hard to justify any loss ever, but almost impossible looking at that schedule.
