We either saved our play action plays for Wake Forest or us message board guys finally put enough pressure on the coaching staff to do their f’ing job. I’m going with the latter.

We did it boys. We bullied them into running the offense we should have had all year. We FINALLY emulated an actual run play with a pulling guard on the TD to Raridon.
Bullying works. Not enough OCs or people online have been bullied before and it shows.

Good ending to a frustrating start.
Anyone know who called plays in the 2nd half?
It surely wasn't Parker, and If so... Swarbrick was pinchin his butt cheek the whole 2nd half....

It was never Hartman. Utilize PA, pre-snap motions, get creative with the play calling and he is 21/29, 72% comp pct, 277 yds, 9.6 yds/att, and 4 TD/0 INT’s.
Them golden beats headphones… best thing Sam did for the team.

Parker already failed the midterm and final. Doing a little extra credit against 4-7 WF isn't going to save him

Very happy with the win though. Proud of the guys for bouncing back
It's really not all Parker's fault... imho.

It's Marcus. He needs to make hardcore decisions. It's really rare to find guys that can coach and make those decisions in real time.

Kids making coaching decisions over "I really like Him" attitudes will crush a program.

Swarbrick caved in and allowed us to Default.

Angeli has been nothing but pretty damn good in his limited minutes this year. Dare I say almost has earned the starting job for next season heading into college station
Hope he plays a lot vs Stanford and even more in the bowl. Then we'll know.

This is wrong. We need a guy like MFMF, we need a guy who has his traits and brings in top players. MFMF needs guys like Golden to manage the game. This isn't Marcus, this is JS and by default Parker. You put this team in the hands of say... Not Parker and we are in the playoffs. Freeman is exactly what we need on top.

Can't argue at this point. But, we will see in a couple years who's right.

I’m wondering if there is a grad transfer option at QB with experience that would come in if he’s not guaranteed the job. My gut reaction is no, but someone that isn’t a sure starter doesn’t have an NFL future. Could they use ND to get their MBA or some other advanced degree?

I’m just not excited about the grad transfer options at the moment combined with some promise from Angeli. The FUND money would go a lot further on other positions than it would on overpaying for a top transfer QB.

Angeli seems like he can at least keep the seat warm and capable until CJ is ready

ND in the last 3 senior days has outscored their opponents 144-7

CFB is changing and we now have strange situations with seniors who have only spent a year on campus. But it is always a beautiful thing to send the seniors out with a win and one of the traditions that still separates CFB from the NFL. A very nice day!

I'd go with another version of whats his name from wisconsin that we got provided we have a good OL and the running backs can feist.

Since we are independent is there any reason why we can't bow out of the ACC and start scheduling 11 home games (then the traditional 1th game in california)?

This has been such a weird season. Outside of Duke, every game has been either a blowout win or a loss.

Craig and Schrauth are mainstays moving forward.

Sorry Zeke, thanks for your service, but Craig has been better, flat out.

For me, ND should be set from C to RT going into '24. Craig, Schrauth, Fisher. Figure out LT and LG.

I still think ND should look at the portal for a legit QB, but man, Angeli continues to impress. He is just on point with his throws.

I also still think Parker needs to go, but I will admit, his play calling today was generally good. But it's hard to ignore the absolutely baffling play calls coming off the onside kick to start the 2nd half. That was awful. But for the most part, I felt playcalling was good. Most of the issues early on was execution. But again, Parker owns those execution errors. Shouldn't be happening in game 11.

Also, just to add, feel good for Tobias getting the big play. It's been a rough year for him, hope he ends it on a high note.

For the “floor” argument, Freeman has certainly gotten the team to absolutely dominate the average/below average teams on the schedule.

The offense being a no-show in the three road games against quality defenses is a completely separate convo.

The Ohio state game is what it is, but the team was very well prepared and outplayed a playoff bound team for basically the entire game.

Great way for the seniors to go out today. Hartman looked very good today - the ball fake and touchdown to Raridon was a thing of beauty (not sure which was better - the fake or the throw). Estime looked like a future NFL stud, as did Alt. Ashton Craig had a nice game today. On defense, the line played really well, and controlled matters when Wake was on offense. Jean-Baptiste low key has had a very nice season. With him leaving, if Cross and Mills join him, those will be some big holes to fill up front.

The freshmen WRs (great game by Rico Flores) and the re-emergence of Eli Raridon, as well as the steadiness of Angeli gives some hope for the offense next year.

Need to follow this up with a beat down of Stanford next week.

Remember when the DL was the big question mark on this team?

Sampson & O’Malley both made the point that Sam hasn’t been efficient at PA this season nor was he efficient going back to his WF days. I can’t argue w/ numbers & don’t blame them for stating the case. But WTH was that today? You’re telling me he miraculously gained the confidence &/or experience to successfully beat the WF defense on a consistent basis!?! Don’t get me wrong WF ain’t exactly OSU or Clemson on D but they aren’t the worst D ND has faced. Boggles the mind. And definitely has me wondering ‘what could’ve been’

Great to see them finally target Raridon in the passing game. I was beginning to wonder if they were just wasting a year of eligibility on him. If he can be Kyle Rudolph w/ shaky knees he should be a weapon going forward.

What a waste of a new years 6 team at minimum and a team that was talented enough to be in the playoff-better than many former teams that actually did make the playoff

Why do we play like ass on the road???
ND should be like Meatchicken and have a min. of 7 home games every year and don't play hardly anyone that's decent on the road! It's all about scheduling (and some CHEATING)!

Don’t listen to people who say that. Hartman has 131 career TDs, he’s fine. PA generally enhances QB play. There’s an article out there about Kenny Pickett and PA working for him. And even if his numbers are pedestrian, you still call the play because again, years of statistical evidence that proves it works.

It’s excuses to carry some ND water.

At the beginning of the season the 5 running backs really did t hurt us against shit teams. But in this game every time Payne was in the game is looked like it killed the offense.
