DId you actually watch any of his passes? 2/3's of them we either later of just terrilbe throws.
The WR's helped him out greatly today.

He completed 73% of his passes. The receivers didn't bail him out THAT much. But go ahead and keep hating on him.

I can't agree with you here bro. Throws high over the middle, behind receivers, another lateral. The receivers bailed him out because they have awesome skills and could make the adjustments. I was waiting for Eifert to get cut in half on those high/middle passes.

Don't get me wrong.
I like it (the music) too, just not the way it's being used.

Keep it for after TV time outs.
There's enough of them and the crowd needs a jolt after them.

Nah, I personally love it for 3rd downs and such. Gets the crowd pumped, gets the players pumped. I'm all for it, and look forward to more of these progressive moves by the current staff/admin. Certain traditions are phenomenal and must be preserved, but it's also time to join the rest of the college football world in certain areas...

I don't hate him he just inst as good as everyone make him to be.

And how good does "everyone" make him to be?

Seriously, who is saying that this kid is great??? Most of us say he's the best we have RIGHT NOW. We've been through this a million times but in our opinion, no one is better (and man, would I love Crist to be that guy, but I still don't believe he has it mentally. The USC fumble just added to that for me) on the roster at this time. I think we need to upgrade at that position next year, whether with someone else or with Tommy's play, but for right now, he gives us the best chance to win now. And I sure as hell want to win now, so I'm with Rees...

^This.

Tommy is a 6.5/10. But right now that is the best we have at QB so he plays. He isn't as good as his record and he isn't as bad as the haters make him out to be.

Totally agree with MEomix. Many near miss ints without any real prssure on him. Watching Dayne escape the rush and make a few moves and run for a first down is another example of what Tommy does not bring to this team. When we play any real teams he will continue to be exposed as he locks on the his target and throw the ball without enough velocity. 56 points is great but Tommy will lose another game for us if we let him. I hate those swings passes and Kelly needs to get rid of them. I don't know why Kelly didn;t platoon Crist and Hendrix the enire second half. Also don't know why he doesn't run the wildcat. The transition to 2012 needs to start now. Tommy is not the future and really shouldn't be the present either. He is a solid backup and that is where he sould be right now. Appreciate the games were he has managed the offense and not lost the games for us but he is a turnover waiting to happen. Luke Massa could have won that game for us today.

He's baaaaaaaaackkkkk.

Who's better than Rees on this roster RIGHT NOW??? And if you say Crist, then you aren't paying attention. Yes, he has better physical tools, but look further than that. Ryan Leaf physically was better than Manning but playing the QB position goes a helluva lot deeper than that. Crist shits the bed when ND goes down. How many more times do you guys need to see that before you believe it??? And believe me, I love Crist, and was commenting to my wife today that I wish he could be the starter because he gives the offense more than Tommy can. However, Tommy's mind and intangibles blows Crist's away.

And if you want to complain about Rees being inaccurate, have at it. Just admit how much more inaccurate Crist is (or are you forgetting all those throws at receivers feet, throws over their heads, throws 15 yds out of the endzone with the game on the line.). You have a very short-term memory my friend...

But are we sure Crist isn't at least a 7.5? I'm not saying I know more than the coach, but I bet BK wonders what the offense and record would look like if he gave Crist a bit more slack in the opener. Did Crist look bad vs USF? Yes, but it was also the first game of the year and his first back from surgery. I don't buy the 'Dayne's a mental midget'. I saw him look great in a comeback against Michigan last year, and even after the USC fumble (which he was perfect in throwing the ball that game, one incompletion was a drop), he comes in today and goes what, 4 for 4? Doesn't spell out mental midget if you ask me.

We know what we're going to get with Rees. Personally (and I know there's not a lot of people on our side), but Crist has looked great when he's come in since the USF game. His passes are crisp, his reads have been great, and he's been accurate. Even against USC.

Moving away from QB discussion...

Did Ethan Johnson play at all today?

I'm gonna say no. Kelly was asked in the post game about EJ. I didn't catch all of the question. Kelly responed that they had hoped he would be able ... it was a game time decision ... he wasn't ready. So I'd take it from that, he did not.

UND.com game stat do NOT list Johnson as a participant.

Crist is 8 for 9 since the USF game, only incompletion being a drop by Eifert on the USC drive. His accuracy has been flawless in the very small sample size we have post-opener.

13-10, hopefully Stanford wins but this game also might show that we can play with Stanford.

I still don't think so.

USC's speed at the skill positions >>>>>>> Ours

Plus our linebackers are garbage in coverage and Stanford loves to use the tight ends, who are covered by linebackers.

Lol as opposed to doing what? Not helping him? Pretty sure that's what they're at ND for. They're there to catch good balls annnndd what for it....... even bad ones. :banghead2

I love how USC is playing with fire right now. I want to see our guys that jacked up.

Te'o was a beast today....

That is all.

Fact! He was patient when he needed to be, and attacked at the right time.

Tuitt had himself a hell of a game too. He's been overshadowed by Lynch a little bit, but has played really well the last couple weeks.

What do you mean? Better than Dayne?

I've never heard anyone call Tommy a all-american. He's just simply the best option we got.
You like Dayne... We get it.

Lynch has been quiet lately. He should have a great chance for some plays next week. Wake Forest loves to throw.

This is what worries me. I wonder how many of Luck's TD passes were up the seam to the tight end. I've seen that at least once every game I've watched him play. The only LB I trust in coverage is Te'o and even he isn't that great. The D-line's going to have to be going balls-out that game.
