I gotta say, while I felt like a cold wet gutted piece of rotting fish yesterday, having watched the game back, I can't help but feel optimistic about ND's foreseeable future.
We're still a country mile away from where we want to be, but you can see the improvement from week to week, maybe not overall, but certainly in different phases of the team.
DC looks as though he's finally getting to grips with the offense, and is taking charge at the LOS, he made some very nice plays, though his roll outs to his left (his week side) need alot of work.
Theo Riddick was superb in the slot, our ground game looked solid, overall I was pretty darn pleased.
Defensively we blew hot and cold, I hate to rain on the parade, but we went up against a very good ground game, and an even better RB in Baker, I certainly don't think we embarrassed ourselves, but again, we are a long way away from the "promised land".
The TD to Cunningham??? (MST WR) was a big time blown call, but thats football, last week against the MW's, our young WR T.Jones dropped the ball in celebration before breaking the goaline, but it was deemed a score, "what goes around comes around" I guess!?!
As for the fake FG, the play was covered prior to the snap, the guy covering the TE fell over, no way was that a coaching mistake.
As for the time keeping...
Win or lose we're a team with a new HC and a new system on both sides of the ball, it takes time and we're still learning, Go IRISH!!!
Bring on Stanford :footballh
