Man we are in trouble, and am worried our recruits will see problems with the next round of loses with Stanford, BC, and Pitt. We are in trouble.

Now, we need the team to prove all of us wrong and win. It will be hard. but, sure hope it happens. But, we sure seem to be cursed.

Ya think LOL, no way man top recruits will love coming to the laughing stock of the NCAA........not. Every year we suck hurts us more and more eventually we will be a shadow of what we used to be.

Please everyone..... panic more. It makes oh so much sense to take two toss-up games and panic that the other team came out with the W. I seriously do not get "fans" sometimes. Whether the game comes out a W or an L doesn't mean **** about the team.

There was a point last year in the lacrosse season where we had these exact types of losses to OK teams. We blew a 3 goal lead to Villanova in the last 5 minutes. We blew a halftime lead to Georgetown. We had a snake bitten 2 goal loss to Rutgers. An OT loss to Drexel. If there was a way to lose a game... we found it.

Did that mean we had bad coaching? NO.
Did that mean our team sucked? NO.
Did that mean there were things to work on? YES.

The ONLY difference between lacrosse and football is that in lacrosse you have playoffs. In lacrosse you aren't under the microscope from a bunch of idiot media and fans. We worked out the issues we had, found an identity, squeaked into the playoffs and went on a run to the national championship.

People need to chill the hell out. WHO CARES IF WE WON OR LOST??? Did anyone seriously expect us to win a NC this year? What matters is that the team is progressing and not regressing.

Rest assured we win that game with better refs. Rest assured Dayne Crist gets better every game and has a lot of room to grow. Rest assured Michael Floyd is getting better every game. Rest assured Theo Riddick is starting to emerge. And most importantly... rest assured that no matter how the Brian Kelly era starts it will END much better than the Weis era did.

Are there problem? Hell yeah there are problems. Our front 7 still needs better athletes in most places. Our safeties are epically bad at times. Dayne Crist needs to work on his short passes, touch and throwing while on the move. But seriously... who cares as long as they are worked out eventually? Did anyone really expect us to come in and go 12-0 this year?

TLDR Version: CHILL OUT!

IrishLax - great points. Are we there yet? No. Will we get there? I believe so and I believe BK is going to get us there.

I gotta say, while I felt like a cold wet gutted piece of rotting fish yesterday, having watched the game back, I can't help but feel optimistic about ND's foreseeable future.

We're still a country mile away from where we want to be, but you can see the improvement from week to week, maybe not overall, but certainly in different phases of the team.

DC looks as though he's finally getting to grips with the offense, and is taking charge at the LOS, he made some very nice plays, though his roll outs to his left (his week side) need alot of work.

Theo Riddick was superb in the slot, our ground game looked solid, overall I was pretty darn pleased.

Defensively we blew hot and cold, I hate to rain on the parade, but we went up against a very good ground game, and an even better RB in Baker, I certainly don't think we embarrassed ourselves, but again, we are a long way away from the "promised land".

The TD to Cunningham??? (MST WR) was a big time blown call, but thats football, last week against the MW's, our young WR T.Jones dropped the ball in celebration before breaking the goaline, but it was deemed a score, "what goes around comes around" I guess!?!

As for the fake FG, the play was covered prior to the snap, the guy covering the TE fell over, no way was that a coaching mistake.

As for the time keeping...:sigh:

Win or lose we're a team with a new HC and a new system on both sides of the ball, it takes time and we're still learning, Go IRISH!!!

Bring on Stanford :footballh

It also looked like he pulled a guy down with him. If anything, would have been offsetting penalties, touchdown stands.

I don't think that is right. If it is offsetting penalites, I believe that you replay the down. Either way, just don't let that play happen in the first place and it is a mute point.

My post game Observation is Michigan is so Much better then ND. They beat us twice 38-0 since 2000, three of the last four seasons. Us little boys can't play with the MEN of Michigan.

Troll, please seek the exit before someone does it for you.

We shoot ourselves in the foot. I dont care about the bad calls we turned the ball over TWICE in the redzone in the first quarter. Why do we have the funmbles all of a sudden? all year we have been dropping the ball, we have just been lucky to recover most of them. Flloyd had 2 Allen had 2 and that is just against MSU.

Defense cant defend sideline to sideline, we are slow

The Secondary is scary thin. You guys can bash Walls, Gray, Motta, and Hayseed all you want but they have played over 80 snaps 2 weeks in a row,

Motta has talent but he is just not ready to play right now. I can only hope that this experience will allow him to grow as opposed to killing his confidence

I'm from MICHIGAN no on there is man enough to do it for me. PUNK

Clearly, you are a real MAN if you're willing to come on to an internet message board and talk trash.

Believe me, Michigan State is a MUCH better team than Michigan, you guys are going to get beat like a Russian wife in Big Ten play... I can't wait to watch what Ohio State does to your defense...it will be a nice preview of what life in jail is like for some of your players.

Since we beat your asses again think what Ohio State could do to you. You guys were chicken to join the Big Ten because you knew you would lose 8-10 games a season if you did.

How did Michigan's D hold up against 1-AA UMass this weekend? 37 points? That's pretty good. As long as y'all play teams like that you can't say a word about strength of schedule.

But you're right. You guys won this year. Congratulations, I guarantee you that it will be the high point of your season. Have fun with it now...because MSU isn't going to need a lucky fake field goal to beat you guys.

Well, I've been back to Michigan to tend my house, since someone else took over with my 94-year-old Mom here, and now back to Wheeling WV and the computer. Who would have guessed that Irish Envy was reduced to a madhouse after the loss??? Yeh. No one wants to hear it but I have "disappointment" but no anger nor willingness to begin slandering the team, players, nor coaching staff because of this. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------When Kelly took over, I said that I'd be happy [given all the difficulties and odds against him] if this first team played hard every game, looked like they understood the game of football, and competed well enough so that they were in every game, and no opponent was getting a week off. What has happened so far?? Game one: we controlled a decent team, and never looked like there was any real chance that we would lose. Game two: we played a team without our quarterback for almost 50% of it, and were in the game for a win literally on the final play. Game three: we took a very solid opponent into overtime on their own field, and without a boner pair of non-calls would have actually won the game twice. Not what-in-the-hell are people talking about?? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------When this season began I thought that it could easily be true with a few breaks that we could go three-&-three in our first six meatgrinder games, and then five-&-one in our last six for an astonishing [given all the factors against it] eight-&-four season wherein every opponent knew that they'd been tested to their limits when they'd played us. OK, I thought that Michigan was one likely win, and Michigan State was one likely loss. I still think that we'll be in every game for the whole year and the 8&4 is still achievable. If there are readers out there who cannot be proud of these guys for playing these teams to the last play, hell, I can't help you. If there are readers out there who insist on an undefeated season in year one of complete system change, hell, I can't help you either. What I CAN do is pay no attention to the bull****---so this is my only [frustrated] rant on the screaming negativity.

WELL SAID OLD MAN MIKE!!!! Some of you guys are seriously delusional, we lost two heart breakers, both we should of won, but didn't. Being 1-2 is dissapointing, but watching these games, this is a different team on its way to something great, if you can't see that you are blind. Charlie's teams lost these games, but I never saw the improvement that made me think they were going to eventually turn the corner and start winning them. Saturday night, against a good team, in a hostile environment, we had the game won, and Dantonio made a great call and his kids executed it (even if it should have been a delay of game, and possibly offensive pass interference). I liked Charlie, and defended him, but in this situation with him as the coach I think we would go downhill and who knows how bad it could get. I do not have anywhere near that same feeling, we are battling, and GETTING BETTER every week. The number one thing we need to do to start winning these games (and WE WILL) is: STOP LEAVING POINTS ON THE FIELD!!!! Floyd's fumble and Dayne's pick, on the road against a good team, will cost you games. You get in the red zone, you have to score, and we will. I can't wait until we start putting it ALL together and winning these games, and see how you guys change your tune. I was and am as disgusted w/ another heart wrenching loss as the rest of you, but lets try and be a little more realistic, and supportive with this team. I feel very strongly our patience will be rewarded. Go Irish, Screw Stanford!
