LOL. If I could rep you I would!
That's a big suprise.

not sure but i am pretty sure they can go on continuation when a incomplete or fumble play goes to review. the receiver should have kept after the ball.
Tonight was not different than any other game in the CW era. The following all happened:
1. No running game by ND. first sign of touble, here comes the 4 WR sets.
2. Defense knew what was coming and still was gashed.
3. Secondary again makes an average QB and WR look like Montana/Rice
4. Special teams by ND was crap (Tate's return was Tate not blocking by return team)
5. Penalties, Penalties, and more Penalties.
6. Poor tackling by defense. This has plagued our defense the entire CW era
All of these problems have been with ND since day 1 of CW's tenure. It yet again shows that CW doesn't work on fundamentals on either side of the ball in practice. He refuses to coach these players like college kids. He thinks they all are NFL caliber players and they are not.
I for one am happy that CW only has 2 more games. He's a good man, but an awful head coach.
Post Game Reaction: We need better coaches. We're really starting to get in high quality talent...but that means much less without quality coaching, schemes, game plans, adjustments and leadership. We need a complete coaching staff overhaul from the top to the bottom.
1. We ran the ball damn well when it was a close game. When you need 3 scores in the final quarter, you have to throw the ball.
2. Seeing as you were on the field with the D, I just gotta go with your call on this one.
3. The DBs did pretty good tonight... that 6'6 boy just made some fantastic freaking catches.
4. Agree. But there were a couple key blocks that sprangs Tate.
5. Yup.
6. D is handled by Tenuta and Brown... I'll blame Weis a bit, but not near as much as Tenuta and Brown.

My question, after losing last week and knowing your seat is hot, how do you come out and lay an egg on offense? When put in a corner most people will fight to get out. Oh well. I'm glad the team didn't quit and almost pulled it off, but seriously, how can such a "potent" offense come out flat after last week when they came out flat?
our passing game is good once we are down by 14 or more points. but until a running game is established this offense is not potent.
he refuses to coach these players period. He needs to get out of his sideline lawn chair and actually coach

Hence the quote marks.![]()
Yeah... because not a single player under him has gotten better. That was just a dumb statement to make man.

Maybe Pitt has a good team. And ND is not quite there yet. And injuries with no depth have taken a toll. I don't know.
I'm not happy either.
And how has ND really improved. I haven't seen much improvent really. I've seen Jimmy get better Weis probably helped with that. But I don't think weis taught golden how to jump, Floyd how to catch, or Armando how to break a tackle

And - Rudolph's absence hurt.
The fumble at end didn't appear to be a fumble but I doubt if that would have mattered. Our tackles were allowing the pocket to collapse on almost every play on that last ND drive.
As for the chop block....I thought it was a good call. When the defensive player is engaged with another blocker, and he was...then you just can't go at the guy's knee.
I read through 10 pages of comments and didn't see one addressing our punting. I have NEVER seen such atrocious punting in my football watching life! Can scholarships be taken away? I couldn't wait to see Turk replaced but now I know why he played 2 games in a row.
I'm just wondering if any of the current coaches will be asked ot stay on next year when a new coach comes along. I like Charlie but I want a winner in here.
Turk was replaced by Maust last week. Turk replaced Maust earlier in the season.
There are 3 threads dealing with the coaches status. Take that conversation over to one of them:
Fire Weis (Merged - Stop Creating New Threads)
Reasons to Keep/Fire Weis
Fire Tenuta
Average QB?
Stull is ranked as the #5 QB in the nation with a QB Eff of 161.6.
Average RB?
Lewis is the #7 RB in the nation averaging 126.6 yds/game and widely compared to Tony Dorsett.
"look like Montana"???
You never saw Joe play college ball, did you?
Montana threw 25 TDs and 25 INTs for a 1:1 Ratio
Stull has thrown 28 TDs and 14 INTs for 2:1 Ratio.
Stull twice placed the ball where only his 6'-5" WR could get his hands on the ball. Despite being covered well both times, Baldwin used his large height advantage to leap high for one pass and stretch out in the end zone for another.
Kinda agree with the BeatSC post. Special teams were as atrocious as they have been during the CW tenure, except for the Golden return.
But golly, I hate to type this out loud, but one more year.
slow down champ.
