Good grief...lighten up people. Really bad loss, but you suffer those from time to time. Kelly's playcalls have not changed. He is who he is. Today his riverboat gambling approach backfired.

BVG really needs to understand that when you play a team that lacks explosive players you don't blitz every down with young players who have no idea what they are doing. Why it took him til the middle of third quarter to figure it out...who the fuck knows?

This is a good team that just lacks the beef on DL and the mentality on the OL. We are a little worn down...and sadly the coaches are failing in preparing an effective gameplan and failing miserably in ingame adjustments.

The sky isn't falling folks.

The ASU game was the one WTF game of the year. Getting lit up for 43 points and nearly 550 yards by NW is down right disgusting.

Yeah he shouldn't have fumbled, that's true, but he should have never gotten the carry in the first place. Cam contributed, but didn't lose the game for us.

This same Northwestern team managed to score only 24 points and total 283 yards against WESTERN. ILLINOIS.

Think about that.

This was a disaster in all phases but his D has become a joke. Even Kelly's body language on the sideline tells you he has had enough. NW had something like 14 pts the last 10 qtrs of football, haha.

I don't know about you guys but this sh:t is having too much affect on my weekends. It's not just the losing but the stressful way in which Kelly wins. He never puts a fork in lesser teams when he can. He had that chance multiple times tonight and failed. Now for some game comments. These will be mostly negative "Surprise!"

Positives (this will be short)
- Fuller looked really good minus a drop or two
- Brindza will be gone next year
- Folston is # 1 and Cam will be gone next year

Pretty short list

Negatives
- golsen again
- Cam (sorry cam you should be happy like Rees that you have been able to play on a team with
this much talent at this level. I know that sounds cold but you are to block and not fumble and
you failed at both today)
- dropped passes, I can't remember an ND team that has dropped as many as this group. Amir is
the only one I can think of who has been solid.
- Kelly sucked today top to bottom. Looked like an idiot with the 2 point. Remind me of his int
by Rees against Tulsa.
- team quit IMO
- special teams stunk obviously especially Brindza. Sorry Kyle but your punts and kick offs
stunk today too.
- BVG is looking like a big fn mistake. This team looks lost on D and it shouldn't live or die by some
One star middle LB. We have made so many teams look like world beaters with this pathetic D.
Not a star or all American on this team this year.
- need a new special teams coach, I would be ok canning BVG after the season. We are looking at 7-5
And the old "ND is a fraud" again. Who can argue with them.

- leaving golsen in was a mistake. Zaire can do what he's doing and make more yards with his legs.

Basically Kelly and BVG suck and not just today but the last 3 or 4 games. Sorry for the negativity but following this team and their week in week out close games is not healthy but a disease. Not going to watch the next two beat downs but will go see dumb and Dumber to starring Kelly and BVG.

We can't beat Louisville. I'm afraid a previous poster is right Kelly may have lost the team and this may be the fatal shot for any hope of becoming more than an average team and winning a worthwhile bowl ever again.

What the F are you trying to say? It was poorly coached game??? and? Kelly's playcalls are about as grab baggish in our wins...they only differense is that we lost today. Players screwed up, coaches screwed...and...games like this happen to all teams.

What is your solution? Are you one of those...after a loss, Fire Kellly guys. Kelly is not going anywhere....unless the NFL calls. So lighten up.

Something is going on with the defensive line. I'm not sure what it is, or(obviously) how to fix it. But there was a lineman blocking either Jaylon Smith or Nyles Morgan on almost every play. They also seemed to have a lineman available to pick up a blitzer, on seemingly every play. That tells me that they were handling our Defensive line, one on one. It didn't seem like we were getting much pressure, until late in the game. I'm not sure if this is the result of a simple scheme that people have figured out, or if the players are not giving it their all, or what. But it's as if there were two different defenses out there, today; the one that got penetration and blew up running plays, as well as pressuring the opposing QB, causing him to make a couple of key mistakes. And then there was the one that was getting blown off of the line, giving Northwestern all the time in the world to make plays. I think Trumbetti is going to be very good, especially if ND can add another outstanding lineman to force other teams to play honestly.

They are really struggling shedding blocks. You are right. They are able to block our guys 1 on 1. The LB's aren't getting off blocks either. Once the whole front seven is engaged, they stay that way.
