after watching it again, and again... that was a horse$hit call. DB engaged, cupped, and pulled a jersey.

Gentlemen... That was the most outrageous officiating call I have ever seen in my life.... And with that... I am done.... I am done with college football... The college game is flawed... Its a fucking joke that they ARE STILL FUKING USING CONFERENCE OFFICIALS!!!! THIS VERSION OF THE SPORT IS COMPLETELY CORRUPT!!!!! This is a fukin carbon copy of the shyte that happens in match fixing scandals!!!

Bro, ND played a hell of a game and proved they belonged. There are going to be a bunch of loses by top teams the rest of the year. ND is fine. Regardless of what you think about the call, don't throw in the towel. The officials weren't on the take. We got some generous spots in the first half that helped propel our drives. Be proud of the performance ND put in and look forward to them finishing 11-1 and making the playoff

It's hard not to read when you're calling people whiners b/c they disagree with your incorrect assessment of the play.

No one is forcing you to read my posts. In fact, I think there is a feature where you can ignore my posts. So, again, stop blaming others for your shortcomings. Take responsibility and handle your business yourself.

And my only "assessment of the play" is that you cannot argue that there was NOT Offensive Pass Interference on that play. You can argue whether or not it should have been called, or if there should have been offsetting penalties, but there WAS one (actually TWO) offensive players blocking beyond the LOS while the ball was in the air...... and that's a penalty.

I've read some pretty solid analysis here regarding why it was a bad call, contrasted against naked assertion from 2-3 people that, "it was the right call." Followed by your finger-wagging admonition that it's "unmanly" to question such a call.

We just lost the biggest game of our season on a very questionable call. It's perfectly natural for us to feel wronged, and analyze the propriety of the call.

Whiskey's reasoning is skrong.

I know a lot of you are upset, hell I am too, but we cannot change it. I hate that because I have been waiting to win a game like that for a long time. It will be ok, ND football is and has been back since Kelly was named head coach. If he is up to the task, we will get that ring! I believe in him more than any other coach out there. He is the man for the job, and he will get it done.

Herbstreit did more to sell that penalty than a hundred replays. It reminds me of the clip on the Rocket punt return for a TD vs Colorado in the Orange Bowl. If no flag is thrown, nobody complains. If a flag is thrown, it has to be pointed out & explained in detail.

I don't understand how this is an argument for or against the correctness of the call.

You love that high horse don't you.
Why don't you try actually watching the replay, CJ wasn't blocking (Fuller might have been).

Then don't read it. Since when is it "contrarian shtick" to tell people not to whine and blame others? Especially if there is a good chance that they are wrong in their convictions that they have been wronged. Look, I get that no one wants to blame our players or coaches for a loss. But the bottom line is that all of those players and coaches are fallible. They make mistakes. It's not blasphemy to say so.

After watching that game as an ND fan, in particular the way it ended, it is only natural to come on our forum and discuss it all. No one is "losing it" over the call but most agree that there were a couple of spots where the refs decided to intervene in the game. It wasn't the worst officiated game I've ever seen, but a really good team doesn't need a lot of help. To immediately start calling people whiners comes off, at least to me, as agenda driven. Nobody is flipping out, we are all fine, the biggest overreaction I have seen is the response to people expressing their discontent with a game deciding subjective call.

I think he is saying if you have to explain why you made the call, but wouldn't have to explain if you didn't, it is a questionable or wrong call. You shouldn't have to explain why you made it.

Haven't you claimed an exclusive right to start these Post Game Observations® threads? I recall you getting rather bent out of shape when others tried to start their own. So no, kmoose, we can't really avoid your hectoring bullsh!t entirely.

So, again, stop blaming others for your shortcomings. Take responsibility and handle your business yourself.

Self-righteousness is a bad look.

Am i having a mental block? When was Golsons 2nd INT ESPN keeps talking about? Are they counting the ball he threw up at the end?

I was asking because everyone seems to be picking apart CJ on the play when I'm fairly certain they listed Fuller. Neither may have been, but if you're going to defend something, it would be best to have it right.

You are correct: the call was on #7. And. unlike CJ, he did initiate contact while the ball was in air. Granted, there was a 0% chance anyone on FSU was going to make the play, so it's still bullshit, but that's them breaks.

This team is legit, and will continue to get better. They've got plenty to motivate them now, not impossible that we will see this team again this year.

I think what would calm everybody down and pep everybody up from an excruciating, last second loss is if we can get some posts to tell us how well ND looked and that they belong near the top of the polls.

No way. @ObserverSports has a very good look from the other side that ABC never gave. https://t.co/UndMMqbg6S via @vine

Actually, this look shows that Fuller(not Prosise) was obviously blocking downfield, which is Pass Interference. You can see Fuller's right elbow come up as he and the defender lock up, leveraging the defender so that he cannot get outside to make a play on the ball.

I certainly can. The defender initiated contact and held it through the play. Let's assume someone jumped that route against CRob and Golson tried to hit Procise in the slot. Would you still think that was an offensive PI? Do you think they would have thrown the flag on Procise or Ramsey?

I'm not ignoring your posts. Someone has to correct your mistakes.

My experience in life is that very few things are cut and dry and many things are questionable and up for debate. Other than #fuckmichigan most things are up for debate

I hope we play those motherfuckers one more time. Maybe we can get the five back to level the playing field. Haven't hated a team like fsu. Ronald Darby got beat a lot tonight. I bet he doesn't have to even go to class.

Our last play after the bogus PI call. When he threw the ball his arm was hit and the ball sailed into the middle of the endzone where a FSU player casually caught it...

Well, time to move on, regroup, take one game at a time, and get ready for Navy in two weeks. There's no shame in being 6-1. There's a lot of football still to be played, and I think we have a great shot at winning out.

The INT that ended the game

It's still bullshit to me because it was called PI not holding. And the DB wasn't near the ball or even attempting to get to the ball.

They threw the flag on Fuller, not Prosise. Watch the replay again. The ref says "#7", and then even Fowler says that they flagged Fuller, before Herbstreit says that he thinks it was on Prosise.
