McFerson, too. Was booming punt after punt.My main takeaway from this game is that our offense is good enough that we can really screw up and make a lot of drive-killing mistakes and still score 40+ points on a good defense on the road in bad weather… which is crazy. We haven’t been able to do that in a long time. We generate explosive plays because we have some very talented RBs coupled with a QB that maximizes a lot of opportunities.
On defense, deepest group of DBs I can remember. The biggest question mark for me is generating pass rush from the front 4. I don’t see it, but I thought they did well as run defenders today.
And how about this new kicker? Holy shit does he have a leg!
Probably nowhere. His stuff is 🔥and UA would have all of my money if they actually started to sell the stuff he wears.Where can I get Freeman's pullover with the helmet on it. That thing looked nice.

Yup. Why there isn't a "Marcus Freeman Collection" blows my mind. He makes everything look good and I thought UA was in the business of making money.Probably nowhere. His stuff is 🔥and UA would have all of my money if they actually started to sell the stuff he wears.
I'm going to guess there's a reason he didn't pay 5 there though.... Maybe I'm naive but I don't think people really transfer for the unique "masters" degree. Not a good look Nick. You played there for four years
I’ll bring more tomorrow but Rylie mills blew up plays all game… he was fantastic despite stats not showing itLike I said pre-game, a 21 point win with some overcoming of adversity is exactly what this team needed to grow AND impress.
Not sure why Sneed isn't out there if we're going to slow blitz LBs.
Great to see Merriweather essentially catch two balls. He's gotta get going and that's a start.
I think I overrated JD and Kiser when I said they're "solid" and got heat for that.
Was hoping for more from Rylie Mills. Seems like the same old same old.
No injuries!
DBs are awesome. Mickens as our next DC would be Ok with me.
I think Parker can learn a lot from this game. Again overall great outcome/flow IMO.
That is good to hear. Didn't see it myself.I’ll bring more tomorrow but Rylie mills blew up plays all game… he was fantastic despite stats not showing it
Syracuse game last year after the refs let their D substitute when our O didn’tWas this the first time we've seen Freeman chewing out the refs? Love seeing that growth from him.
Seriously. I've watched pretty much every game since about 1987, and I can't even remember the new kickers name right now. But he has the longest FG in ND history, and almost made that 56yd kick also. lolAnd how about this new kicker? Holy shit does he have a leg!
It was almost halfway up the upright where it hit. Schrader has a cannon for a leg.Seriously. I've watched pretty much every game since about 1987, and I can't even remember the new kickers name right now. But he has the longest FG in ND history, and almost made that 56yd kick also. lol
Announcers mentioned shortly after that dude ran a 4.49 preseasom. Thats freakin moving and on the replay you could see he blew by his own DBs as well. Dude that caught him’s got wheels, i wouldnt feel too bad about it.I was happy for him and appreciate him excelling in blocking down field & being a great teammate for his fellow WR in the 1st two games.
Sucks his 2nd catch got nullified by the offensive PI.
Wasn’t Tobias a nationally recognized sprinter in HS? Still can’t believe their LB caught him from behind on that great catch & run.
When you rewatch you will feel differently about Harper. He played a really solid game and even most of the catches he gave up were really good coverage that took a perfect throw and/or catch for the completion. I actually came away feeling good about him being a guy thats going to get a ton of snaps for us.Biggest issue from the 50 was the Nickel getting picked on, on in breaking routes.
I get that we adjusted and Watts jumped 2, and DJ Brown jumped that last one perfectly (great anticipation there).
Brennan being late and throwing those kinda blind helped.
Harper felt like a liability.
I’ll need a rewatch tho.
In a sense this game is good practice for USC. Obviously NC State doesn't have the same caliber of receivers and Williams > Armstrong but they have similar styles. Watching USC jailsex Stanford here, any practice we can get will come in handy.Great adjustments on offense after some eye roll play calls trying to force the running game with multiple tight ends and stacked boxes. It is really difficult to stop this offense with Hartman at the helm, our never ending stable of quality backs, athletic tight ends and dependable wideouts.
We finally saw how valuable explosive plays are when playing a good defense and the offense can’t find a consistent rhythm. What an awesome revelation to see our playmakers excel and be athletes. This is what we see the big boys do in playoff games and man it’s so much more fun.
Still in wait and see mode with our DLine pressure, but they were AWESOME today keeping Armstrong in the pocket. His longest run was 9 yards. I do think they were intentionally engaging with the OL and primarily focused on staying in their lane to keep him in the pocket rather than generate chaos for sacks.
They were in State’s backfield the entire game. They better find a pass rush.
