I thought BK did a great job coaching this team to no penalties this week. Still climbing in the rankings. Golson still a dark horse for the heisman. Skies are blue for this team. Only downside is I have to survive ANOTHER week of work without getting my fix of Notre Dame football. I just want some practice footage... where is Jack Nolan?
He was at the Tom Hammond Misannouncing And Make-Up Clinic.
I thought each game I watch was just terrible football. Not that the games weren't competitive but it wasn't good football. Seriously, regardless of what game I turned to it was turnovers, missed field goals, or penalties. Just bad football. FSU should have been smoked, Clemson had the ball inside the 6, 4 times with no points. Thats just one ex. But there's more. I was actually taken back today at how bad the quality of play was.
Agreed. Made me feel like we can hang with anyone in the country. Hope we live up to that this year.
UNC is terribad. Any team that gives up 70 pts is terrible. No worries there.
I'm glad you guys have voiced this sentiment, because I've been watching a lot of our upcoming opponents and I was beginning to think it was just my stupid eternal optimism that was making me think they're not as good as I'd thought they would be.
To me, both Stanford and U$C looked REALLY average when they played each other. UNC gives up 70! Their basketball team doesn't give up 70!
Louisville has some pretty serious deficiencies, and Florida State still has ridiculous athletes all over the place, but they certainly aren't invincible.
I'm not even beginning to suggest that any of these games would be easy wins for us, but it certainly has picked up my optimism even more.
IMO both Alabama and FSU have the personnel and depth to out physical any team in the nation. Alabama's one glaring weakness is their depth at OL. Their secondary was not great against Florida but still they just straight up physically beat Florida down. They had, what, 4 TOs and still hung 650 yards of offense and 42 points?
FSU also looked soft on the OL and their defense did not play great overall. I doubt we get Maguire so once JW is back in I see it being a much different dynamic in our matchup.
Anyway, while both teams look more beatable than I initially thought, I still think we could lose the physical battle if we play Alabama and when we play FSU.
Alabama gives up big plays. I think our QB would have his way against their secondary and they are without a signal caller.
FSU has "the best player in the county"...my ass. But he is good, although idiotic. It will be a tough game in their backyard but they will get beat eventually. I'm banking it is against us.
Team I'd least like to face is Oregon at this point. They score a lot...it'd be tough to keep up with them plus their QB may be the only one that is as good as ours.
If our offensive line doesn't play better, FSU will dominate us. They have a good defense and they have a lot of big time defensive line players. We are having a tough time blocking Purdue, Michigan and Rice, just wait till the big boys roll up.
I like Everett against any secondary but FSU is very talented. Kelly better have a masterful game plan created to keep his QB on his feet and without injury.
Their offense is going to poke a lot of holes in our defense. I think we can hang with anyone but people are far too confident in our ability to play with the big boys. We haven't even seen top-25 talent yet.
Let's see how we do with Stanford, it'll be our first trench test.

I agree with Dillon Hall here. We have played Rice who just lost to ODU and Purdue that was jail sexed by CMU and Michigan is proving to be a joke.
We haven't beaten a single decent team yet. Our first three opponents are downright bad. Not to mention, we haven't played a road game yet.
