I agree with you and I think we’re saying basically the same thing.

The big tech firms in the US have become bloated monopolies that are hindering creativity.

Agree 100%. Not just hindering creativity but productivity.

Not at all. As RDU mentioned, everyone else will grab it and develop from there.
It's what apple did with Siri. Sadly they really dropped the ball when it came to further developing the ai assistant

I don't know how true that statement is. I don't doubt that they are probably bloated, but these tech companies usually have three groups of programmers. Those that support the app in it's current state, those that work on enhancements & fixes to the current application and a group that spends their time in a creative mode trying to think of and develop the next "hot" application.

IBM pioneered this concept back in the 60's. They had a special research group in White Plains that did nothing but "blue sky" ideas for development.

Andrew Yang called it.

I have my reservations on AI basically taking over everything. There's no doubt it's another milestone in IT. I've been in IT since '72 and new developments over the years were supposed to speed things up, automate things and eliminate the human factor. Yet here we are. IT careers have grown from Computer Operator and Programmer, to disciplines in hardware ,network, security, project management, EDI, PC support and infrastructure (Servers $ OS). In security alone you have network security, application security, endpoint security and web security.

If you look at Accounting, automating process like A/P & A/R have been around for a while, but you still need someone to verify things were processed successfully.

I am looking forward to see what AI can do in security. The human factor is still the biggest risk in keeping a companies data secure and still the primary reason companies get hacked.

Sure.

Doesn’t this clearly demonstrate however that Altman, Zuckerberg, etc…have been talking out their collective asses as far as AI generally speaking and AI development specifically is concerned? All the while burning through tens of billions and culminating in the loss of something like 1 trillion in value in tech stocks in a couple days. That is fucking crazy.

Now I’m still supposed to believe these are the type of clowns who are gonna help make the government more efficient and save us all kinds of money?

They have their opinions and are welcome to express them. It doesn't mean they will be right. I could be wrong. I'm just going off of my experience working in this field probably longer than you've been alive. They developed their companies and products and can run it as they see fit. That bloated company is supplying jobs and last time I checked, even Biden likes that. If these tech companies bother you so much, maybe you should go old school and give up your smartphone, tablet, PC, etc.

IYO, how does a bloated company hinder creativity?

Some of us would argue the clowns are the ones who wanted to send condom money to Gaza.

You can round up a 501(c)3 and raise money from the Jew haters marching on the upper east side and then send boxes of Trojans yourself. I just don’t want to see our government send a bunch of money to a left wing 501 that skims a bunch and sends some rubbers to Gaza on my dime. Sorry to disappoint.

Just look at twitter and you will see

Not everybody that supports Trump thinks everything is a good idea.

So many problems with the airlines providing the screening. Do they get police powers? The cost of tickets would definitely jump in order to pay for the salaries.

Interesting.

Last time I checked the President didn’t get to unilaterally decide to only spend funds appropriated by congress on those things that happen to align with the president's political agenda.

You consistently regurgitate the dumbest right wing rage posts/talking points, I’ll give you that.

Deregulating public safety is insane. Sure there's grey area in corporate governance stuff, but you wouldn't leave border security up to a private company to manage.
Oh, I’m sure there’s someone at some “think tank” out there that’s writing a white paper about it.

I mean, we fought two full on wars with lots of “private contractors” running around.

Remember when those Think Tanks were just alt right crazies and would never have a say? But then people just shit their pants about "media" and that "conservative values - you know, like smaller government lower taxes and all that! (not things like white replacement theory stuff or political violence inciting by dear leader") were silenced so they just hand waved it away? So they got really worked up and upset that people said Think Tanks would push their policy through, and those Think Tanks did exactly that but apparently that was always the case?? lolol

Demand Justice took the last seat on SCOTUS after running a Retire Breyer. Psaki came from there. The Brookings Institute and Center for American Progress must not exist. You also have a whole semi-think tank in the entire media which is aligned with the DNC. Find me the right-wing equivalent of Arabella Advisors while you're on this fake outrage campaign.
