She’ll go out there and say the Republicans want people dying of Coronavirus in the streets and that it’s all their fault and her peps will believe it

Adding in all the voter stuff including ballot harvesting was stone cold F-you lol...
I can't believe all the different pork they added. Green New Deal stuff, abortion funding, performance arts funding, etc., etc... It's absolutely in your face shameful. Her peeps will believe anything. Some of the twitter stuff and propaganda going around is pure twilight zone stuff. And Planned Parenthood is fund raising and asking people to call their congress men and govs to complain about Trump's handling of the epidemic. It's a F'd up country.

Hers will. But she has power exclusively because she is the House majority leader. Suburban moms and dads have mortgages to pay. Senate said we'll work out a deal to help you out.

She tanked it.

I'm actually wondering if she is a bit like Sleepy Joe and not all there anymore. She's gotten her ass kicked by the GOP from the minute she got her gavel back.

I'm starting to almost feel bad for her. Mitch McConnell is a based God. Dems are led by....well...to quote the Donald, "they're not sending their best!"

She looked really bad today. Shaky, tired, disoriented. Kennedy talked about her finally walking back some of her add ons, but also said the AOC+3 crowd is now all whipped up, and Pelosi will have to go put out the fire she started... Purely my opinion, but I think she really screwed the pooch this time. The optics of the add ons and delays are horrible and will likely be front and center during the election.

I get that the MSM hates Trump and wants him out no matter what but they need to realize passive-aggressively pushing to shut down our economy is the epitome of cutting off their nose to spite their face. Problem is it affects all of us regular folks a lot more. It’s not about choosing our investment portfolios over life. It’s about putting food on tables & roofs over heads for the majority of Americans. Trying to get back at Trump and the “evil” rich, per usual; is going to screw the rest of America instead.

The media hoax panic triggered by trump derangement syndrome victims results in an economic shutdown over a China virus strain no more harmful than regular flu seasons.

Lock down business, layoff 20% of the labor work force? Folks this is insanity. Idiots and fools are in charge.

At least give her an "A" for effort.

COVID-19? How ironic that would be.

Don't wish that on anyone, but if I was ever capable, she'd be high on the list.... It's only time before we see some very prominent folks perish from this. Given all the old folks in gov, guessing their chances are better than most. I'm sure they'll all get pick of the litter HC though, which should equal things out a bit.

I have a simple (I think) question regarding government spending.

Has anyone ever measured what we actually get for every $1 the government collects? Let me ask with an example.

If Yang got is "$1,000 per person", how much would it take to actually get to that $1,000 in each person's hand?

Would it be $1,500 per person? $2,000?

Trying to understand the ratio for government spending and what the waste is through admin costs.

Much like healthcare, the gov has incredibly high "administration" costs comparative to many countries. Just in my little world, I've seen major HC groups, schools, and some of the largest sports complexes nationally spend less than 60% of funds on actual deployment/build and true management. The rest is fluff and oversight... On one HC gig we actually showed them a no-brainer way of cutting about 70% of their ongoing management budget, and their response was simply "we're not worried about those costs"...

That's why I oppose these payments but will keep mine to at least get a discount when I pay it back over time. That's if I even get one. I think everyone gets the kid one right?

A couple of articles that I find helpful in understanding broadly how who gets what.

What's Inside The Senate's $2 Trillion Coronavirus Aid Package

As far as individuals ($560 of the $2 Trillion):
Cash payments: Estimated to total $300 billion. Most individuals earning less than $75,000 can expect a one-time cash payment of $1,200. Married couples would each receive a check and families would get $500 per child. That means a family of four earning less than $150,000 can expect $3,400.

The checks start to phase down after that and disappear completely for people making more than $99,000 and couples making more than $198,000.

Even with this the Fed is forecasting Real GDP (taking into account low inflation) will be 1.8. Real GDP dipped in 2019 to 2.2 from 2018's 2.5. Inflation is climbing, though. And the Tax Cut bill math to justify it was based on a future GDP of 6, if I remember correctly.

Big corporations are getting a $454 Billion fund to draw from, which could turn into ten times that much.

How the Fed's Magic Money Machine Will Turn $454 Billion Into $4 Trillion

The answer lies in the central bank’s emergency lending authorities, given to it by the Federal Reserve Act. When the Fed declares that circumstances are unusual and exigent, and Treasury signs off, it can set up special programs that essentially buy debt from — or extend loans to — businesses large and small.

The Fed could simply print the money to back that lending, but it avoids taking on credit risk, so it asks for Treasury funding to insure against losses. But those taxpayer dollars can be leveraged: Because the Fed expects most borrowers to pay back, it does not need one-for-one support. As a result, a mere $10 billion from Treasury can prop up $100 billion in Fed lending. And voilà — the $454 billion Congress dedicated to Fed programs in the aid bill can be multiplied many times. A separate $46 billion in the package will go to specific industries.

I'd bet they text from different wings of the house.

I doubt they're ever in the house at the same time. Like two ships that pass in the night. Check the sticky notes, leave one and they're on their way!
