I think I see what it is.

The Janesville plant quit production of full-size SUVs on Dec. 23, 2008.

They continued to make medium-duty trucks until April 23, 2009.

Romney took back his statement on the closing of the Janesville plant. Sort of.

Paul Ryan: Barack Obama didn’t close plant, but … - Katie Glueck - POLITICO.com

LOL!

Nice unbiased source there.

FTA:

“I’m not saying it was his decision,” Ryan shot back. “I’m saying he came and made these promises, makes these commitments, sells people on the notion that he’s gonna do all these great achievements and then none of them occur. These are empty promises that become broken promises and that’s the story of the Obama economy.”

It was just a few people who were sub contracted to finish an order:

By December 2008, when President George W. Bush authorized nearly $14 billion in loans to General Motors and Chrysler, both of which were near financial collapse, GM had already warned it might close the Janesville plant because of sagging sport-utility vehicle sales. The plant was effectively shut down on Dec. 23, 2008, when GM ceased production of SUVs there and laid off 1,200 workers. (Several dozen workers stayed on another four months to finish an order of small- to medium-duty trucks for Isuzu Motors.)

It's not worth much. The differences between half-truths/mostly true/mostly false/etc can be easily nudged. They are not omniscient.

Obama is leading Romney 23% to 16% in truths. Both get F------.

Politifact does a pretty good job at laying out each claim and then judging the credibility in my opinion.

Here's a thought, maybe we should just have each candidate compete in American Ninja Warrior after being nominated. Whoever makes it the furthest wins the presidency.

Semantics, really.

It still doesn't explain the fact that Obama lied to those workers in Feb. 2008.

So nothing is his fault? He had a record surplus when he entered office and turned it into a record deficit. We were losing 800,000 jobs per month at the end of his presidency. He had nothing to do with that? Is that what you're saying? Obama created the economic mess?

Nope. Never said that. There's a lot of things that Bush did that I didn't like. The economic mess started way before Bush. He just made things worse, and Obama's continuing to make it worse.

I just don't believe that it's the government's responsibility to bail out failing companies. If companies are unable to manage themselves, then they deserve to fold.

So its Bill Clinton's fault? LOL

So you are pissed about us losing jobs AND you wanted companies like GM to go out of business causing massive job losses?

ok then...

Like I said, it's not the government's responsibility to bail out failing companies. GM could've filed for bankruptcy. Instead, the taxpayers are on the hook when GM's sales tank. IMO, if the government bailed out every failing business, we'd be broke in less than 10 years.

Who said that they are going to bail every company? GM is one of the biggest US employers.
