Douglas was arrested early Sunday morning on Pittsburgh's South Side after a witness told police that a car had struck a pedestrian and left the scene, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. When police later found Douglas, he stumbled from his car and officers had to help him stand, according to the report.
Douglas reportedly told police, "Hey, I play for Pitt football ... Please don't arrest me."
The injured pedestrian, identified as Christopher Paul, was taken to a hospital and treated for head injuries, the Tribune-Review reported.
The school announced that Douglas has been suspended from all team activities. The redshirt freshman is a backup tailback and a kick returner who has appeared in both of the Panthers' games this season. He fumbled a kickoff return in the first half of Pitt's overtime loss to Utah in Week 1.
