As much as I would LOVE for Freeman to be named our official in the next hour, get in the playoff and win the whole freakin thing (like, talk about the greatest thing ever!!) what will prob happen is we get in, the coaching search is totally ham-fisted, no one reasonable is in place going into the playoff and we get ritualistically midsommar-ed for all to see..... If we don't have our shit together in ~48 hours then fuck it,... I don't think I want a playoff spot.

It was a leading question. Fowler or Rece or whoever mentioned it is in their listed criteria, what was he supposed to do say no we won’t consider something we say we consider? That’s actually exactly how he answered, we consider blah blah blah blah etc. The rankings are a show in this weeks edition was ND losing Kelly. All the national writers get their articles, ESPN gets their talking points and then none of it matters because it’ll play out on the field

Current Betting odds of one of OK St / Michigan / Cincinnati dropping a game are nearly 50/50. So one of those + Bama loss isn’t that crazy. I could see Michigan staying above us with 2 losses tho.

The committee wants nothing to do with a pissed off Irish team. They aren't going to care that we hired a coach and maintained almost the entire staff. They will blame Kelly for the disruptions and move along despite all the positive energy surrounding the program.

Even ESPN is saying we have a decent chance at making it if the right things happen. The only way we don't get in is if everything goes chalk OR Alabama wins and the rest is chalk. If there is one upset, we seem to stand a good chance:

Chalk except UC loses: 67% chance we are in.

I've wondered this since Kelly left. Had we beat Cincy and were sitting at #2, would Kelly have left?
