Golden is John_Infante a reliable source cause that would be quite odd?
Yes he is.

I agree this helps out Pitt immensely in Western Pennsylvania. Also, them moving to the ACC helps them.Pitt will probably become a big time program now.
Sandusky looks like he got off the easiest.
Until his soul departs his body
It all comes full circle.Came across this on Twitter...
Joe Paterno's last official win now Nov. 1997 vs. Wisc. His starting QB? Mike McQueary.
Sandusky looks like he got off the easiest.
This is really a sad day for college football! Not saying PSU didnt desearve it but for the sport, this sucks...
On another not can we note act like vultures with their recrutis and former players? Sh!t the body is still warm lets all come down on who we can attempt to snag. Imagine these poor kids that have their lives before em disrupted like this!
Second part is somewhat true, but unfortunately the first vultures to the carcass get the best parts, and you can guarantee that the coaching staffs of a multitude of programs will NOT be observing a moment of silence for PSU. So, while internet posters could put a moratorium on speculating who ND could go after, I hope that the ND coaching staff is already discussing (or has discussed) who they have interest in.
The players have a Get Out of Jail Free card, so many will land fine and probably would prefer to move quickly, rather than wait this out. Those who wait may find the list of suitors drastically reduced; especially if the NCAA does not allow signing teams to exceed the 85 limit.
Forgive me for possibly asking a dumb question...
Let's say ND gets one of their current players to transfer. What University pays for his scholarship?
My thought would be the school the player attends would "pay" the scholarship, but the schools that accept them will be allowed to go over their limit.....just me guessing though.
especially if the NCAA does not allow signing teams to exceed the 85 limit.
They are saying that won't be the case with these players, they will not count against the limit
I agree but as a fan base we can try to sound a lil less like O$U fans.
Has this been confirmed? The NCAA is considering it, last I heard
You have to figure not many seniors will transfer because of the academic portion. Don't most institutions require the last two years of credits from their university to earn a degree? I am pretty sure that is how it is at ND.
Some reporters are saying probably few transfer before the upcoming season because of the season starting in over a month. After the season will be a different story.
This is probably a pretty accurate statement, being that most schools only allow a certain number of credit hours to transfer. Those that are freshman and sophomores will most likely be feeling pressure from the older group to stay as well. Regardless, I have a feeling that there will be multiple transfers once it is all said and done. You have to figure not many seniors will transfer because of the academic portion. So as a fan, you want your coach in there first, trying to secure the best recruits, but you just don't want fans to speculate on who the coaches should go after? Serious question to understand your point
Some of the PSU boards I looked at are downright appalling. Delusional, disgusting, and pathetic.
Anytime you can whine and complain about getting punished for heinous sex crimes and a complete disregard for academic integrity, you gotta do it right? Way to make your school look even worse.
I guess so because its not even 3 hrs old and many are acting like OSU fans, not recognizing the impact on college football as one of the prominant University is pretty much hobbled for many years to come....its a sad day.
The Freeh Report concluded that individuals at Penn State University entrusted to positions of authority, shunned their basic responsibility to protect children, and innocent children suffered as a result. Our hearts go out to the victims of this abuse and their families.
Today Penn State takes another step forward in changing the culture at the institution as we accept the penalties of the NCAA for the failure of leadership that occurred on our campus. We are deeply disappointed that some of our leaders could have turned a blind eye to such abuse, and agree that the culture at Penn State must change. As we move forward, today's student athletes have a challenging road ahead. But they will do the right thing, as they have always done. I am confident all of our head coaches will come together to make the change necessary to drive our university forward. Penn State will continue to fully support its established athletic programs, which provide opportunities for over 800 student athletes.
Working together, the path ahead will not be easy. But it is necessary, just, and will bring a better future. Our faculty, staff, students, athletes, and parents will work together as Penn State begins this new chapter. Though this cooperation and collaboration, Penn State will become a national model for compliance, ethics, and embodiment of the student athlete credo.
