I like the medium body Montecristo's.

I bought the max allowed by law when I was overseas a few months back. Nobody even checked me at all coming back, so..... next time.

Been smoking through a box of Bolivar royal coronas from 2012. They were very bland but have recently come alive and delicious

I recently tried "The Judge" by My Father.

https://www.cigaraficionado.com/article/my-fathers-the-judge-will-hold-court-soon-19018

This could be in the running for strongest cigar I have ever smoked. It was as strong as the Cohiba Behike 56 and Monte Cristo #2. I was definitely feeling it, towards the back end.

I gave one to a friend, in order to get a second opinion. He started getting dizzy before the first inch was ash. Great cigar, for the price, if you get a chance to try one.

Really enjoyed this one. Have a couple in the humidor.

I believe I smoked the Sir Winston, but I can't confirm, because it was given to me as a gift. Also, the band was sent to me separately from the stick (this was still the full-ban era.)

Just had a Rocky Patel sun grown Maduro. Not bad but became harsh very quickly.

I’m glad this thread has been revived. Unfortunately I have a child now and have had to prioritize away from cigars.

My gripe about RP is that their product is so inconsistent. I've had great sticks, only to have some really bad ones from the same batch.

Hard to argue. The one thing I've found from RP is the smaller the cigar, the better the quality.

Based on your posted information, I'm going to assume that you live in Granger...

How long have you been there? Did you frequent Club LaSalle, in the past? I was devastated to find out that they changed Club LaSalle into its current format. Damn that smoking ban.

Sadly never had the privilege, but I've heard stories from a lot of past regulars. I have been told through a friend who works for South Bend that reintroducing a cigar bar is in the works. Apparently there are several locations that still hold their grandfather clause.

Man, LaSalle was the best. The staff is really what made it awesome. It was like "Cheers" and we were there about 2-3x a week.

My buddy and I had the privilege of being humidor holders, at one point. Best decision ever. I hope someone opens a nice lounge, but I don't know if anything will ever capture that same aura.

I smoked a Partagas Salomones (Cuba) tonight.

Partagás Salomónes - Cuban Cigars

This is a much bigger cigar than I usually smoke, but it's been in my humidor for over 3 years, and it's been blooming white mold. (My humidor is set at 68%, and it's the only cigar to have this issue.) I finally decided to take the cigar out and smoke it.

It was surprisingly mild. I don't know if it's because it was dried out during shipping (it was a part of a gift-bunch that was sent to me, and the shipping of the cigars is a horror story) or if that's the true nature of this cigar. I'll say this, it was the mildest Cuban Partagas I've ever had.

The draw started out tight due to the tapered foot, but once it burned through the first 1.5 inches, it pulled okay. The cigar initially started tunneling, but corrected itself once the foot burned through. The back end, towards the cap, was tight.

I'd choose a Serie D No. 4 over this cigar, 10 out of 10 times. But, this was a gift, so I can't complain.

Yeah, kids, work, family, health, etc. take away free time and free cash. I smoke 1-2x a month, now, instead of 1-2x a week.

BUT, because I smoke less often, I feel justified in spending more for the sticks that I want to smoke. I think it makes cigar smoking more enjoyable.

I only smoke Cubans these days when I can bring them back (less often this last year), but I used to enjoy the hell out of Cuesta Reys. Anyone ever tried one? Thought they were about the closest thing to a Cuban I've ever had.

I've always thought the Tatuaje Havana VI line was pretty close to Partagas Serie D.

Smoked another "My Father - The Judge" last night. Grand Robusto size, this time. I wanted a second round to see if my initial take still held true. It did. This cigar beat me down worse than ND did USC.

Great pull on this cigar. Lots of smoke, LOTS, and a very even burn. The ring gauge is 60, so it may not fit a standard sized cutter. I had to use a punch for this one, but it probably ended up saving me. As stated, you can pull a crap-ton of smoke, with each inhale.

This cigar knocked me on my ass, again. In my opinion, this is the strongest, and perhaps best, "domestically available" cigar currently on shelves. Anyone who enjoys Cuban sticks should check this one out.

Had a Tatuaje K222, last night. It's the third time I've had this cigar. Strong cigar, though not as strong as The Judge. Good construction, easy pull. Good amount of smoke. Tended to burn out, if I let it sit, though. Not sure if that was because of the humidity outside, or because I didn't pull it out of my humidor, earlier in the day. (I usually take the cigar I intend to smoke out of the humidor, at least a half-day before I smoke it.)
