Checked my memory. ND was up by 10 in the ASU game and gave up a late, long drive, let em use up the clock drive to make a three point win. Game stats were virtually identical, but decidedly ND until the last ASU drive. ASU did have 3 TOs to ND's 1 but it was a clean, decisive win. That announcer was just looking for something to say that supported his euphoria.

Watched him play in a couple games. He was getting pushed around pretty bad against Oregon and didn't do much in the others. In short not quite ready for prime time.

Yeah, Eddie V is getting pushed around a little. But in his defense, he's out there and he keeps his motor running. That other Almost-Domer Barr looks pretty good.

Appropo of nothing, did you know that the 1939 UCLA football team had Jackie Robinson, and future NFLers Woody Strode (became a movie actor in a number of John Ford films), and Kenny Washington (the first African American in the NFL in the modern era (post WW II)? That team finished 6-0-4 (!), tying two teams 0-0, including USC, who went to the Rose Bowl. UCLA finished #7. Learned that last week, and just had to tell somebody.....

A small, yet reasonable chance that we beat the Pac 12 and B1G champion this year. Not too shabby... and lose to a crappy Michigan and Pitt team.

I wonder if there are any unranked teams who have beaten three currently-ranked teams. I doubt it.

EV was lined up on offense and caught a first down pass. It was sweet!

Apparently in high school, he was a pitcher and could throw a 90 mph fastball.
