Sagarin has us favored as 21.7 fwiw. Their formula is pretty incredible.

I like their HC. You gotta think this is their Super Bowl despite no one from BSU daring admitting to that. A win over ND is the only thing that can offset that ugly opening season loss to USF if they run the table the rest of the way.

But our playoff chances go to zero if we lose so looks to me like motivation pretty equal Talent? Not close.

Agreed 100%. I trust MF & staff to prevent players from thinking all is well after the massacre in F’ville.

That line seems too big, but MF just called a fake punt while up 29 points in the 2nd half. With this offense and that mentality, Boise St better watch out. This could be a blood bath.

I hate these games. There are no real reference points for me to get a feel for their team besides USF and it looks like they had a lot of turnovers in that game. I can’t find a full replay of the AF game but that game appears to be a lot close than the score with Bouse scoring with two mins left.

I think the difference in team speed and athleticism will be pretty glaring.

Same here. Saw some of the App State game and didn’t tell me much. App State not up to their usual standards. Only passed for 65 yards but couldn’t tell if Boise was good on pass defense of if App was just bad. OL was totally overmatched by Boise pass rush and QB couldn’t get the ball downfield at all

not the way he game coaches though. 4th quarter is for 'slowing' and working on the future.

Offensively in 2024, Boise was majorly keyed off of Jeanty. If you watch the Oregon or PSU game, both defenses overplayed Jeanty which opened up some stuff in the passing game for Madsen. And despite being overplayed, Jeanty still made plays. They lost their OC (Koetter) and the new guy seems to be trying more or less the same scheme, except without Jeanty. It's worked great against EWU and AFA (8.4 and 9.1 YPC) but terribly against USF and App (3.2 and 3.4 YPC).

Defensively, they keep their safeties pretty close. They want to be even or win "standard" plays that end up 0 to 10 yards and then hope to win on "big plays". They know they'll give up some big TDs, but they're banking on wiping out drives with big TFLs or Sacks.

There isn't much on this BSU to scare you, but they are pretty well coached. I'm guessing this ends up like a CMU-23 or MOH-24 game that feels closer than it should most of the game but the box score leads you to think it was never really in question.

To give you some perspective on how “good” App State is this year……they are an underdog at home this weekend against an 0-5 Oregon State team that is pretty lousy.

Boise State fans have no faith in their defense to slow down ND and rightfully so. Their defensive metrics are bad basically across the board. They don't tackle well, they don't cause havoc, they give up explosives, and they don't stop the run.

But their offense isn't bad, and they're a playaction team that will test the eyes of the defensive backfield.

The line is 62.5 so do with that what you will.

It’s not long now before teams stop stacking the box against us. You think Love and Price are doing great, just wait!
If teams are even still considering that strategy against us, which has worked for 10+ years, they are in trouble.

Boise State has an experienced OL that is pretty good. Obviously, no Jeanty this year. They should still be pretty formidable with the run though.
