The main difference between Notre Dame and Michigan is that Harbaugh wants to play this kind of game. His ideal game is one where you can’t throw a forward pass. So they are perfectly suited for winning in these conditions.

The second difference is that ND has bad linebackers, and Michigan does not. And Michigan’s linebackers know how to play an attacking style of defense... which only works when the other team can’t throw the ball.
