ND @ SYR East Rutherford

ND @ SYR East Rutherford

Opened at ND -14

With BVG's termination and Greg Hudson's promotion odds dropped to -13.

I'll be curious to see what Hudson can do for this program as interim DC. With BVG, you just put 35 points on the board for the opponent to begin the game and hope for the best from there. What will the Hudson number be?

Literally thinking about betting against ND in every game they are favored in for the rest of the year. Great way to make some money.

I would hesitate to bet against ND in this particular game. If there was ever a game where we would show some fire and intensity it would be this one.

I agree with the fire and intensity but in a week does the defense suddenly take correct pursuit angles and make tackles they missed in the first 4 games?

Does the highly touted LB (an AA on this board) start making TFLs instead of tackles 5 or 6 yds into ND territory?

Do the DE's suddenly demonstrate that first step burst that blows by OLs and creates sacks?

Does the Secondary which has been playing largely a collection of second stringers because of suspension and injuries suddenly reduce their 40 time by a tenth or three to keep up with WRs?

Does a CB still abandon coverage to bull rush a QB running wide on a QB option, where the QB correctly reads the faux pas and flips a short pass to the suddenly uncovered receiver for a score?

And does Hudson's presence on the sidelines stimulate Special Teams integrity on Kick-off coverage or the OLine's blocking on place kicks and punts, or the OLine start making holes for the "3 headed monster" to run wild?

Honestly don't see us winning this game. Syracuse has a better QB than anybody we have faced this year so far in my eyes and the top receiver for yards in the nation. Really think our secondary is gonna stop him? lol

ND is allowing 33.5 PPG against Div 1A competition.

SYR is allowing 43.7 PPG against Div 1A competition.

Sagarin has ND with the 29th Toughest Schedule to date.

Sagarin has SYR with the 39th Toughest Schedule to date.

Sagarin also makes ND about a 9.5 pt favorite in East Rutherford.

What dis Sagarin say about Duke? We were 21 point favorites.

Vegas and the bettors set that number.

I don't have Sagarin's rating from last week. His current rating (after the ND/Duke game) would have ND a 9.5 favorite.

At this point it's not about how ND's defense stacks up against the opponents offense but how ND's offense stacks up against the opponents defense. Simply because they will need to outscore many teams this year to win.

The defense will give up points, the offense just needs to score more.

Yes, because they won't be asked to drop into coverage.

Hudson: Gentlemen you only have one job. Your first step is always forward. Then move to the ball as fast as you can.

Any of the reporters going to have the balls to ask Kelly if Jack made him fire BVG?

Kelly is in charge of the D. More players will play. Kelly was pissed at D being tired and one dimensional. Morale was low with BVG only playing a few and sitting great talent

Kelly just dropped a bomb. He finally got why....He has been absent and hands off. If he plugs back in and kicks ass we change.

been saying every week something is wrong with Kelly. I think he made have had a epiphany. Very encouraging to hear this!

While watching the presser every week, I am under the belief that Eric Hansen only moves out of his seat once a week to change into a shirt he has in the back seat of his car.
