Hmmm....Someone needs to ask Kelly if Ben Koyack is living up to his potential now.

I made a post awhile back wondering about the injuries and rehab of him, Randolph, and Collinsworth (from last year).

I now wonder-- is Kelly trying to preserve a potential 6th year for Chase? If he had the ability to play as a true freshman, it seems like it wouldn't be a leap to get one series or 5, 6 snaps out of him this year. Especially considering the injuries among the front 7. I can see not wanting to burn Matuska's eligibility, but it seems like getting anything out of Chase this year would be like playing with house money.

No one mentioned the biggest news of the press conference; Bruce Heggie has been moved to defense for the week.

Weird press conference, at the beginning they talk about live questions first, then they were going to take phone questions, and all of a sudden they just abruptly shut it down . . .

How about the walk-on Connor Little getting on the depth chart. Also notice Mad Max still above Hardy on the depth chart.

DL Stephon Tuitt, Jarron Jones

Yeah, I think so, in part. Chase has legitimately lost two years to injury so he is a prime candidate for a sixth year.

But I think the bigger issue is not wanting to risk re-injury. Kelly went on at length about how Hounshell is like a pitcher returning from injury who is on a strict pitch count. He also said that Houshell will even still be limited in the spring. It sounds like he is just not ready to play at game speed yet.

All 3 backs, Cam, George and Tarean. Amir has been fitted for his coat.

he said something quick about this i will have to check transcript later in regards to amir..if i heard correctly

Yeah, I actually think the reporter misquoted Kelly. The question was about whether Kelly had found his three running backs, but Kelly didn't say we were happy with "all three" running backs; he said we were happy with "all" of our running backs, including Amir. Kelly said something about how Amir only got one snap because of circumstances and how he isn't out of the rotation or anything. I'm paraphrasing; like Panda I'm not certain and I'll need to see the transcript to be sure I heard correctly. I just had it on in the background while I was working.

I know, but in the news conference, just one feature that made it strange to me today, they said Eilar Hardy was number three, and Max Redfield was number four. So I have to assume that Collinsworth is out.

i had volume all the way up but w/ people walking by my office and for some reason BK's voice at least seemed to me would get real loud and then he must turn away and it was at that time i couldn't hear exactly what was said...i couldn't post what i thought i heard quick enough to not miss more of the presser which is why i just quickly noted something...as you two have posted that is what i believe is what i heard

I think Kelly said that Collinsworth won't practice today and they'll see how he is tomorrow. Questionable.

I wanted to find some highlights of the 2009 primetime game against @Pitt. I just remembered thinking we played terrible and they were extremely fired up for the primetime game. Obviously these are pro Pitt highlights but some things that are shockly obvious to me are 1. The athletes on defense compared to the athletes we have currently on defense(DT's to CB's) 2. The pressure on Clausen, currently feels like Rees hardly ever gets touched. Anyways just some observations and clips to get you pissed off about saturday nights game.
