Maybe we can bring in Golden to help prep for the triple. He'll be free by tomorrow afternoon
This is a game where I think you're going to miss a guy like Kiser the most. With Watts a close second.NDs offense should be able to score on every drive but im worried the defense will have trouble with the triple option.
North Texas has a prolific offense and only got 31 and navy had three turnovers. We need some three and outs. We'll get to 51 vs that horrible defense.
Of course, I said that before BC too.
That’s good news.Devonta Smith not listed with regards to yesterdays board conversation of Sampson saying he left injured.
Eat some fiber.I have this pit in my stomach feeling about this game.
How many times have we beaten them since then?I was at the Meadowlands disaster.
Freeman/Golden managed to beat them 35-32 three years ago, and ND could do no wrong last week against a garbage team, so should be smooth sailing. How many times have we beaten them since then?
I don't understand how people on this board (not just you, but over half the board) hold this opinion and then also want to make the playoffs. Sure we struggled against BC (but never trailed in the game), but every team has a bad game. I don't understand thinking the team is bad enough to struggle against every team they play but also wanting to make the playoffs and thinking we should go toe to toe with UGA, OSU, or whoever.Freeman/Golden managed to beat them 35-32 three years ago, and ND could do no wrong last week against a garbage team, so should be smooth sailing.
Simple. The board has dunderheads that don't understand reality or history as far back as literally two days ago. The reality is that upsets happen all the time and to act like ND is immune is dumb. Playoffs are irrelevant, as upsets happen to everyone. The fact that ND could lose to Navy does not mean they can't win a national championship.I don't understand how people on this board (not just you, but over half the board) hold this opinion and then also want to make the playoffs. I also don't understand the fascination with dredging up games from years ago as if they have any bearing on what will happen on Saturday.
Yeah but doing this every week is exhausting and fretting about ND potentially losing to BC or Navy is a waste of life. Could they lose? Sure, but they probably won't and I'll worry about that if it happens. And this board goes well beyond acknowledging an upset could happen, to the point that I wonder if they even think ND is any good.Simple. God bless the Navy, just not so much for 3 hours or so Saturday evening! My dad was in the navy as well in WWII (Seabees in the Pacific islands), so I understand your thoughts regarding Navy.Always a tough one for me. My God Father’s dad was bombed by the Japs and lived amongst sharks for close to 5 days.
Nah, you’re thinking Pittsburgh. It’s the following week.I have this pit in my stomach feeling about this game.
Thanks to the brilliant play calling to kickoff the year, Love should be top 3 in the country but he's in the 5-6 range now.Crazy stat: Horvath has better rushing numbers than J Love. Horvath: 138 carries for 926 yds 6.7 per carry.
Love 141 for 894, 6.3.
Check back in a week.
As long as we stick to the game plan and not go against what "actually" works in the game. Should be a 20-24pt win.As usual, if ND plays sloppy and has a few turnovers it could be interesting but this Navy team doesn’t seem quite as potent as last years team to me. They’re definitely giving up more points to shitty teams

I hear ya, but worrying and fretting aren't things I do. I simply live in a place of easy uncertainty, for the most part. (I am basically certain about some things, like a 10-2 ND making the playoffs.) When 99% of the board was freaking out about Ash, I was thinking maybe everything would work out okay. I'm okay with maybes. Part of what I like about maybes is they allow me to enjoy games, seasons, coaches, and players more. If I assure myself ahead of time that ND is going to dominate, I'm probably going to hate the games and everyone associated with them. I'd probably turn pissy like 90% of the guys in every game thread. Instead, I'm the happiest clam week after week, and not just the wins.Yeah but doing this every week is exhausting and fretting about ND potentially losing to BC or Navy is a waste of life. I mean what happens a lot on this board is people proclaim we will struggle or outright lose to any scrub on the schedule while pretending no upsets will happen anywhere else so they can forecast some doomsday scenario where ND is left out of the playoffs. Why they worry about getting left out the playoffs when they believed we were going to win 6-3 (touchdown and missed PAT, zero chance we kicked two field goals) to BC, Navy, Syracuse, and Stanford is beyond me.
And if they do lose, "history" has nothing to do with it. The BC game in 1993 or the Navy game 3 years ago have zero bearing on what the team does on Saturday. It's a stupid talking point to allow people to feel justified in doom spiraling all the time.

When you do eventually discover the experience of easy uncertainty, it will be life-changing.Of course, losing can happen. I watched ND lose to NIU last year, but I have a lot of belief in this team and think when they're switched all the way on they're a top 3 team in the country. I'm not going to spend a lot of time dwelling on what could go wrong. ND is the better program top to bottom than Navy and every other team left on the schedule. If they lose, I'll deal with that if it happens, he who worries suffers twice.
