They won't slow down the run with Mafah. He's just different than shipley. less outside, less pass game that they can do with shipley. Mafah is a big tough runner, doesn't have estimes feet, hands, or top end speed though. Clemson also doesn't have a complimentary back to him they trust if shipley is out.

Any word in your neck of the wood as to “Tyler from Spartanburg” being either a Gamecocks fan or a plant to get Clemson fired up? From what I can tell from neutral parties commenting on it, they’ve sided w/ Dabo in the way he defended himself & scolded the fan for being so personal. Nothing surprises me these days (look at the scUM scandal) so wouldn’t put it past a program to manufacture motivation.

If Clemson wins, I can see Dabo on the field post-game yelling into the sideline reporter‘s mic about how everyone gave up on him & Clemson & he never wavered & this will be the game that when fans look back, turned the program around. Just gives me a flashback to the ”Bring Your Own Guts” post game on field interview in 2015. You could say that‘s when Clemson’s impressive run began.

Not having Mitchell Evans or a healthy Jayden Thomas makes me think this is going to be a redux of the Duke game. While we have other playmakers, I have no faith parker's ability to properly get them involved.

I think you nailed it. This has the makings of what we saw in the Duke game. I don’t see Clemson relying on their kicker if it’s close late. That likely cost them a win vs FSU. Klubnik loves his TE. I think, like ND; their TE is their leading receiver.

His stats are a product of asking "how has a team performed, how could they be expected to perform against a team with a similar profile as the team they are facing in this game?" We all default to looking at the point differential (for good reason), but, in his words, these previews "are simply tools to help us calibrate a baseline expectation for a matchup. Then, we can compare what happened to the expectation and learn."

That said, your question is really good in that folks should understand that the line is what it is due to information and purpose that are different from what he looks at in his previews and the projected difference can vary significantly.
