I like Notre Dame in this one...going against the odds-makers. End of the season should give the Broiler enough time to train-up the troops.

If the offense is in sync, I think we could take this one. Hopefully so. But right now I'm calling a loss.

Make no mistake about it...this will be SC's bowl game, along with the UCLA game the next week. However, I expect us to be better than UCLA this year, so this will be an even bigger game for SC, providing we come to town with a ranked team with a threat to beat them. If it's 2007 or 2008, which was an inevitable beat down, then meh. But I expect this to be a very competitive game...

I really hope those days are over with.

I'm 100% certain Kiffin is going to make some dumbass cocky-as-hell comment before the game this year. I can feel it.

Yup. Count on it. He's an idiot. In time, he'll eat his words again...

But God bless Layla.

I am pretty sure he did that in UT to get publicity so that the school would be in the news. That way, he could go after the highly sought after recruits in the south. In his first year, although record shows otherwise, he vastly improved that team. They should have knocked off ALA if it hadn't been for the two blocked FG's.

So while he may be an idiot in your eyes and many, it actually worked in his favor by promising wins over FLA.

I think the sanctions will kill the kitten and ND will star to dominate them like they have over us recently, however this season will be a tough game that I think ND loses by less than 7

Thats sounds like a hell of a recruiting pitch.

Lame Kitten: "I eat my words so I can get kids like you, Seantrel. And you're so big I just want to hug you. Hey, wait, where the hell are you going? Layla's in the bedroom, not outside!"

Hell, I can't blame recruits. I'd go to USC for a shot at Layla, and then transfer.

.Members of the USC football team were placed in a remedial English class. “Because we are all new on campus we are going to start with the basics,” the professor explained. “Does anyone know what comes after a sentence?” All of the players raised their hands. “The appeal!” they all shouted with pride.

A Southern Cal football player was bragging to a group of co-eds that he finished a jigsaw puzzle in only 3 months. One girl said, “Three months? You’re proud of that?” The Trojan said, “Yep. On the box it said 4-6 years.”

I would have to agree with that. I live in Knoxville and while Vol fans are bitter about the end result, they all agree that his staff did improve the team. His staff is what does Lane Kiffins work. He himself is not a very good coach. But there is no way we can turn our backs to the fact that USC is/and will be loaded with talent. I think off the field distractions and an improved ND team keeps this one close but in the end:
ND- 24
USC- 35

I expected USC to have a good defense and average offense this year... I might have had that completely reversed. Feeling pretty good about our chances now in a shootout.

I wouldn't say they have a good offense. They're defense is certainly average so far, but Hawaii does not have a good defense, so gauging USC's is moot till they play a good defensive team.

ESPN is building up this win like it was something great. But I thought SC looked pretty average.

We'll see how much of a leader Barkley will be. The leadership won't come from the head coach. Kiffin is a marble-mouthed idiot. I can't even imagine how he is able to put two coherent sentences together.

Bold prediction: Kiffin is not in his DREAM job by 2013.

USC really looks bad. Their D looked awful against Hawaii and right now they look very evenly matched by a Minnesota team that just lost to South Dakota. I'm not saying we'll kick their butt... but there is a clear difference between Pete Carrol USC and Lane Kiffin USC.

we don't look like world beaters either... and they have time to grow just like we do... but yeah, this looks to be our best shot in years...

Right, I'm in no way saying we look good or will win this game... just saying USC doesn't look like their old selves at all.

For this game, They have yet to post a line. I guess the injury question marks are holding them up.

I am thinking it opens as ND +5.5-6.5.

ND-27 USC-21....I turn 30 Saturday, the wifey is throwing me a big party, starting the day tailgating and going to KU-MU, and ending w/ this one....I hope the Irish give me a HUGE B-Day present! (Sadly, I highly doubt the Jayhawks will be able to.).....If the Irish pull it off, the night will spiral out of control w/ Beers and beer pong etc., if they don't I could end up face down in a river of Jameson.
